Not that your comment is directed at me, but I certainly never alluded to any of that. I merely posed a question. I'd love to have his skillset in this team, I just don't know if he's physically ready for an 82 game schedule against grown men. - BenderRodriguez
Are the other smaller players in the league able to play against grown men ? It's not like the nhl has mass monsters like the 260+ the average NFL player is. And his speed is elite enough that more often than not they wont catch him to hit him. |

My understanding is no different than that of a gifted student. Doesn't mean they will become the brightest or the best, but at the current stage they are at it would be more beneficial for them to have a tougher challenge.
I don't feel either Day nor Veleno were that vastly superior to the others around them to make the jump. As for the others at the time, Tavares/McDavid/Ekblad, were just too far above the others their age that it had to be done. - Glak18

Yeah my comment was not directed at you, but the overall cloud people who can't make up their mind what they want.
Again the concern of whether Hughes is physically able to play in NHL is ultimately up to the player and team that drafts them, but on the other side other players smaller than Hughes have already demonstrated they can excel at the NHL level...would you have the same questions about Marner now if the Flyers traded for him? |

We as fans deserve dach if that's how we want to act lol - Tfaehner
No, the fans deserve someone with enough skill that even if they ate their boogers on the bench no one would care.
The Flyers themselves deserve Milan Lucic for Nolan Patrick. |

Would you really want to re-sign Ceci for 5m+? People despise Hagg and MacDonald, I could only imagine what they would say about Ceci.
Would like to add Dzingel, but I don't think Ottawa wants to add any high salary at all plus Voracek seems a bit high for a soon to be UFA and a defenseman who skates like he is carrying pants filled with rocks. |

Fair point on ceci. He would get roasted in philly. I just want to get rid of Jake lol.
I want dzingel and stone. Truly. But dont want to give up assets to trade for stone. |

I think the Flyers have the assets to get Stone and/or Dzingel. All the offers you see include Frost because that's the most notable prospect and fans of other teams barely try to know any others below the top couple.
Personally there is no reason the Flyers would have to give up this years 1st round pick, no way. People will have different opinions, but if the Flyers won pick 1 or 2 there is no way in hell I am trading Hughes or Kakko straight up for Stone, let alone more assets. If Ottawa gets a 1st round pick this year it will be from a playoff team and a 20 something 1st round will always have less value than a top 5 pick.
If I am Fletcher and I am talking to Ottawa about Stone then I give them a pick and choose option:
Pick (1):
O'Brien
Rubtsov
Ratcliffe
Pick (1):
Hagg
Morin
Pick (1):
Laughton
Lindblom
Vorobyov
Then add 2020 1st Round with selections.
To me this is still a lot to give up, but the Flyers have the depth to fill those holes. |

Here's my dream scenario which will make only me happy. No idea if these moves are even feasible.
Jake, Leire, and Stolie to OTT for Duchene, Dzingel, and pick. We extend Duchene.
Simmer and Amac to TOR for Nylander and late round pick in future year.
Raffl, Lindblom, and pick to STL for Parayko and Allen.
That leaves us with,
G, Duchene, TK
Nylander, Patrick, JvR
Laughton, Coots, Dzingel
NAK, Varone, Weise
Provy, Sanheim
Parayko, Myers
Gudas, Ghost
Hart
Elliott, Allen |

It's hard for me to give up the assets it would require for a guy like stone when you could potentially get him in a few months. Dzingel who would cost less, Coyle even a muzzin would be guys I'd be okay getting at the TDL. Some analysts have speculated that we trade simmer as a playoff team rental and we could flip that pick to a team like Ottawa a long with a young player or prospect for a stone or duchene. |

Would be more like Jake. Good prospect and 2020 first and 2019 3rd more likely. |

Obviously the best case scenario for the Flyers is to sign someone like Stone in the offseason without giving up any assets, but who knows what happens now until that free agent period starts.
The worst thing the Flyers can do is hoard and keep every single prospect they draft. First off not every single one will work out and there simple isn't enough roster spots to play everyone. No team will ever have 12 top forwards with 6 top defensemen. Nashville is a great example of this with their history of drafting goaltenders and defensemen, their current groups are great now, but just look at the goalies and defensemen they used for trade bait for other areas. |

To be fair they said dream scenario, I had the same dream and when they announced that trade I was laying in bed with Kate Beckinsale and Taryn as we discussed what we were going to wear to ComicCon. |
