The leads should wait for their d problems to be solved within the organization. Just keep the picks and draft dmen, eventually one will hit. Even if it takes another 3-4 years, the fans get to watch some playoff hockey and the owners take in the playoff revenue. |

I think they'll take the slow and steady approach, keeping prospects and 1st round picks etc. - walshyleafsfan

More like the Caps, Ligtning and Preds.
No one should be compared to the Oilers. Night and day between the two management teams |

Don't think they'll go all in. Think they'll wait for Marleau and Horton to drop off with Lillybust, Bracco, Grundstrom and Sandin to come in.
Then it really begins. - walshyleafsfan
Bracco is now playing in the ECHL. He’s not close
Hamilton has been traded three times already for a reason. Stay away. |

Stay away from Hamilton for sure. Absolutely. Bracco is not in the ECHL. He's close. |

If nylander was playing like the money were paying him we wouldnt even be worried about this. We gave him Pasternak money and expected a lot for it and in return we have gotten a 3rd line winger at a .25 ppg at best. Hamilton is maybe not the answer but there has to be a top 4 man d that can work here. |

Nylander will bounce back. Leafs have some dmen (and forwards) in their system that can really help them moving forward and will be on ELCs which will be crucial for the organization. All the names I've seen for prospective dmen are either not easily available or vastly overrated. Leafs are better off building from within like they have done the last 3 or 4 years |

HUH?!
Bracco is a pt a game player in the AHL.
He is very close. |

The Preds are a good example of a team that didn't go all-in last year and got punished...
The leafs are in a worst position. They are against the cap and will have much less room.
Both Marleau and Horton are signed another year. So you think that the Leafs are just going to wait this year and next year without making a meaningful trade??
Also, you named 3 forward prospects. Isn't the problem on defense?? - RedRevenge
Bracco and Grundstrom are forwards.
Liljegren and Sandin are defense. |

Dont think Hamilton is what Toronto needs. More offense isnt a thing they're shopping for.
I could see St. Louis as a trade partner, but salaries have to be moved in, as well as out.
Next year, Toronto wont have Gardiner or Hainsey on anymore, which opens up 7 mil defensively. Also have 4 AHL D-men ready for the NHL jump. A couple are arguably ready right now for it.
As for Marner or Matthews, remember Nylander got $7 mil for 61 points. If thats the case, how much are 69 points worth? Thats their highest total so far.
Marner should break it this year since he's playing with a 80+ point center in Tavares, instead of the previous 40 point center, Bozak.
Matthews, maybe if he's healthy? He's been awfully quiet lately.

Not new. Just aging well thanks. Taken quite some time to collect the talent we have. Some folks think our cup window is closing, when in fact we are just getting started. Not going to fix the D overnight. And a few changes up front as we go along. Want to see this team a contender for many years, not just a one and done. |

Habs have nothing to offer as far as top 6 forwards are concerned. And why would the Canes enhance a conference rival and vice versa. If RD Petry is up for grabs why go for RD Hamilton if you're Montreal? Make a 4 way deal. Ottawa Van Toronto Canes. Better ratings for you Ek. |

Actually they do...$$$$$ (cap space) and a draft pick for next year (2nd or 3rd). |
