Fixed.
Not sure how 2 games turned into weeks. 3 games ago he had a goal and an assist, he did not play well at all.
Guess what, I don't have favorite players. I don't care who is on this team as long as they try. It has nothing to do with me not liking him, I don't like ANYONE who who floats, gives little effort and pigeons in front of the net. Again he had 36 goals last year for Toronto and fans wanted him gone 2 years ago, why? See 25 of his 30 games as a Flyer.
Now will JvR continue to skate or go back? - Glak18
His entire career isn't very impressive. He's a 25 goal guy who plays soft and disappears a lot. |

It's laughable. It's also laughable that it is even allowed in the first place. - Scoob
To me it's about the spirit of the game. He looked to be offsides by replay but if you need a micrometer, slide rule, and an I pad to look at it from 6 angles, close enough and within the rules of the spirit of the game. Blatant blown calls are really the issue.

Are you one of the posters who defends Simmonds? I'm honestly asking cause I'm not sure
Cause JvR has more points than simmer in like 15 less games and people here say they would rather keep simmer over JvR - bulet13

He should get to about 50 points pace. If he continues at even a slightly less rate. I wanted 60 from him. 20 points in 30 atm. 9/11. - Tfaehner
Yeah unfortunately I don't judge performance based solely on what their stat line is.
Seriously question for anyone, do you think it's possible to get 2-3 point game and have a bad game? Now can you get 0 points and have a good game?
Say a player averages 16 minutes a game over 82 games (1,312 minutes played in a season). A guy scores 30 goals in a year...WOW amazing not many players do that now. Let's assume on every one of those goals he has a good shift, avg 45 secs a shift. That's 22.5 minutes total.
1,312 minutes played total in an 82 game season.
22.5 minutes known good shifts for 30 goals.
Seriously someone looks at stats and sees 30 goals, damn that player is good, but
WTF does that player do to help a team for the other 1,289.5 minutes he plays? |

Yep
Blatant blown calls are really the issue.
Yes, but they are extremely rare and don't warrant having the replay mechanism in place.
The game is played by humans and officiated by humans in real time. Leave it that way. |

After seeing weal get dealt for a bag of pucks I think it's pretty clear that fletcher will clear out non productive players from the team who dont fit whatever his vision of team is. - Tfaehner

Did they not want him? I thought they just wanted tavares more and like us with simmer this year knew he wanted more than we were willing to pay. - Tfaehner
No, they wanted him gone the season before he had 36 goals, the year he had a career year in points and the year he got career year in goals.
Ya know...floating, not playing defense, not trying, hurt team 5 on 5. |

Well of course. I've played and coached hockey and I was never an avid scorer. And impacting the game can be done in many ways. But goals also cant be discounted to nothing. Goals win games. And theres not that many players who consistently pot 25-30. Especially not on this roster. |

So you would rather take Simmonds and his 45 pts (Max) for the next 7 years? |

You can tell how soft the league has become when JJ flips out over very average hits. |
