The five forward power play looks terrible from a player position perspective. They are constantly getting passes on the backhand. Might want to move those guys so they can make a pass or shot without having to take that extra second to control the puck.

No he hasn't lived up to his contract but if I had to choose between him and Simmonds I would choose JvR. I love simmer as much as the next person but he's clearly spent out there. He has been a non factor in almost every game since the first two weeks of the season. 19 pts in 45 games (so like 37 pts over a season) is not worth 7 million per year. JvR, while not perfect by any means, can at least still put up points.

That better be a penalty on Dubnyk. All Laughton was trying to do was avoid contact.

That's my problem I don't care about his point production, I care about all the other things that hurt a team...floating, no defense, no effort. I would take a 15 goal scorer who doesn't turn the puck over (name of the game is to score goals, but also keep them out) and tries to be involved in the game. If you find scoring a goal every once in awhile with the expense of costing your team in other ways then this is the type of season you should expect every year.
