So most people agree that the Flyers need to add a top 4 D-man if they want to be competitive next year. My question becomes who becomes that odd man out if that happens?
We have Provy, Sanheim, Ghost, "New Guy"
Then we will have MacDonald, Hagg, Morin, Gudas, and Myers to be 2 3rd pairing d-men and 1 7th Dman. |

Today's Tank Simulations for the draft....
4, 4, 2, 1, 4, 1, 3, 4, 2, 1
It bothers me that out of all the times I've simmed this 4 is the most common number we get. |

Macdonald can eat all the popcorn he wants. I think the last spot will just have to be won in camp, probably between Hagg, Morin, and Meyers IMO. |

For several reasons, I think Gudas will be trade. He has played better this season than last, but moving forward, I can’t see the Flyers choosing him over their youth like Myers. Gudas also has more tradeability and trade value than AMac. I also don’t think Folin will be back and might be traded.
Right now without a new guy, it looks something like:
Provy - Sanheim
Morin - Ghost
Hagg - Myers
AMac

That is a very young Defensive lineup but I think it has a great balance. We essentially could have an above average skating offensive minded Dman on every pairing. |

Hagg is a completely serviceable 3rd pairing D. He is in the top 5 in hits in the league, we need that physicality for sure. |

Keep this in mind: during the first year of his Phillies GM tenure, impatient Phils fans were calling Pat Gillick "Stand Pat". What he was actually doing was assessing from top to bottom what Ed Wade had put in place and then he made moves. I don't know what Fletcher will ultimately do and how well it will work. I do know the plan is to be aggressive in aiming for NHL-level success next year. What that will actually look like, I don't know.
Also, the best prospect-- Carter Hart -- was already called up from the AHL. Myers will probably come up at some point as well. - bmeltzer
Going two whole weeks with only 6 healthy dmen on the roster seems more like negligence, than being aggressive. What was the plan if a dman had got hurt in warm ups? |

Hey fellas I have some bad news to share with fellow Flyer fans.
Jordan Weal's family is from the area of Saskatchewan that I do a lot of travelling to.
A buddy I have there says:
Jordan Weal's Uncle said that Giroux and Voracek are the problem. Coach has zero control over them. Weal asked for the trade. Nolan PAtrick wants out as well. Weal says that Giroux is a total bumhole on the bench and in the dressing room. - jduran10
He forgot to mention that EK is Jordan Weal's uncle.

Yes, but Hagg-Folin was an awful pairing because there wasn't enough speed and puck moving ability between them. Unfortunately, the GM refused to call up a RHD prospect who would have provided that.
Flyers went 1-4-1 in those six games, so at least Fletcher's tank stayed on track. |

Additionally, if we do get number 1, I don't see what all are saying about Hughes, the same folk that had NP 1 for sooooo long till NH rose to #1.
I like the kid from Finland who is currently playing in a mens league.

Hagg cannot help who the Coach puts him with. Folin is just awful. Really should be paired with Ghost.

The coach can't help it when the GM gives him 6 dmen to choose from, and one of them is awful. |

No idea. Maybe the media could have asked Fletcher that. |

If Nico Hischier was a prospect in the upcoming draft, he would be ranked #3 AT BEST. |

At least recently amac was day 2 day and could have played and we have been home or close by in NJ. Dont think there was a concern for a full on recall. |

I once sat next to family friends of Brandon Manning at a game. The husband tried to tell me why he didn't think Ghost was a good NHL player and then I explained to him why he was and even went so far as to say Manning shouldn't be playing. He said I sounded like I knew about hockey and that he would take my word for it on both accounts lol. So sometimes family/friends of players just don't know poop.
Also I bet what that poster said was a complete and utter lie and that his account looks like a troll account. Also weal does not have nearly enough clout to ask for a trade like seriously? And NoPa and TK are best friends and they both attended Gs wedding and looked quite happy. Don't think NoPa is going anywhere |

Many reasons actually. They need to showcase the ones they have for trade. They are still evaluating them. Phantoms are having a tough time already. It isn’t the best situation on the Flyers right now for a rookie debut. |
