Well folks, tonight Flyers game features 6 time all-star Captain Claude Giroux with rookie sensation Carter Hart getting the start in net. We should see some new power play units per Head Coach Scott Gordon. There’s bound to be some internal competition and pride on the line as it’s veteran forwards on unit one versus the blossoming youth on the second unit. We should continue to see that much improved penalty kill. Plus Andrew MacDonald returns to the lineup. Another interesting story line, new GM Chuck Fletcher’s team will be taking on his former employer franchise, the Minnesota Wild.
And there you have it. Let’s go Flyers!

Exciting! I'll definitely check in during commercial breaks of the college hoops games.

I think it is actually the opposite, the media will take disaster over good any day of the week. Stories become endless with reasons why and drama.

Sure, if you want to wallow in the negative, but if you are a looking-for-the-positives type person, this season is a little short on content.

Which headline sells more:

"Flyers win again, what a great season"

or

"This is why the Flyers suck donkey balls..."

On a positive, with a possible full season of Hart, possible addition of Frost, Myers and/or Hughes/Kakko and whatever trades happen...October will be buzzing.

Doubt we get Hughes/Kakko, probably finish 5th worst record or better. We are a bad team but do have some talent.

I do think other teams will sell off and bottom out like Ottawa rangers Detroit. I cant imagine we stay bad enough to be below those teams after they trade off their free agents and vets.

We will be trading off too. And Ottawa doesnt want to be last. They dont have a first round this year.

What does that matter? Ottawa is just horrible, they can't do anything about it. Us losing Simmonds/Raffl will not prevent us from winning games. Like the other poster said, i see a handful of teams finishing below us.

Selling off what simmer raffl maybe gudas? We still got a ton more talent than those other teams if we get our ish together. Ottawa wants to resign duchene and stone. They are floating dzingel and ceci to try and get back in the first round. They will move on if duchene or stone talks dont go anywhere but they finally are making an effort to spend to keep quality players.

Just saw article citing that Chia is desperate for forward and right now. As much as I like the idea that Simmonds could get us a 1st rounder +...im not 100% sure it would be worth the gamble waiting and waiting.

If Edmonton offered an unprotected 1st for both Simmonds and Raffl....do you do it? Odds are with that roster it could still end up a top 15.

Doesn't matter which exact spot you finish, all depends where the ball drops. If the Flyers can somehow get another 1st rounder that ends up being added to the lottery then I really like the odds.

Imagine we acquire two firsts and end up with picks 1-3. I can dream.

Don't you need at least one roster player back for both Simmonds and Raffl? Just not sure who on Edmonton you would like!
Maybe Looch!!!!!

I doubt the Flyers could manage to yank a 1st from 2 non-playoff teams, but anything is possible.

Personally if the Flyers don't win pick 1 or 2, I would no question use that pick in a trade for some kind of improvement. Doesn't matter if the pick is 3 or 8 it will be at least 2 years before that player gets a legit shot to make the Flyers unless the Flyers unload some big name forwards.

Ok Edmonton is giving up a 1st for Simmonds and Raffl, what else is Edmonton giving up to take Lucic? 2020 1st?
