I doubt the Flyers could manage to yank a 1st from 2 non-playoff teams, but anything is possible.
Personally if the Flyers don't win pick 1 or 2, I would no question use that pick in a trade for some kind of improvement. Doesn't matter if the pick is 3 or 8 it will be at least 2 years before that player gets a legit shot to make the Flyers unless the Flyers unload some big name forwards. - Glak18

Podkolzin has an outside chance dont doubt him! - Tfaehner
Literally everyone has a chance, but we are talking about the Flyers...Morgan Frost has 2 years in development and he might get a spot next year. Even if Podkolzin can get out of Russia next year he would have to look like Bure to grab a spot at 17/18 years old.

6'1 190. Very strong body and board work. Above average skating. Plays physical a lot like a tkachuck. He wont make the impact kakko or Hughes will be he can absolutely play in the NHL from the get go imo.

I know the kid has skills, but pretty sure he is still under contract with SKA for 2 more years. That alone I would say Dach has a better shot of making the NHL next year.

Bob McKenzie on TSN said many people have told him Gudas is on the trade block.
He's been the team's most consistent dman this year. - Tomahawk
If that's reflected in the return, then I'm OK with trading him.
But it's kind of weird that there's no talk of trading MacDonald at 50%. His cap hit would be lower than Gudas' cap hit at full value ($2.5m vs $3.35m), and he has the same amount of term left. And I swear I've been told numerous times that MacDonald is as much, if not more of a top 4 NHL dman than Gudas is.

Hes not. And has battled injuries. Gudas has much more value on the trade market as a young right handed d man on a good contract. I'd expect nothing less than a 2nd and prospect.

Sounds about right. Decent Dman with the ability to hit. Some teams would love to have him. There will definitely be takers. - RustyPipes
I rather deal him and Simmonds separatly but I wonder if a team would try to snag both from us. Becomes pretty attractive if you consider retaining max amount of cap for Simmonds too.

May have been true a couple of years ago, but now ...

Heck, that would bring a nice return back, but like you I believe separate deals would be much better.
Pierre LeBrun on The Athletic: The Philadelphia Flyers and the agent for pending UFA Wayne Simmonds have held regular talks of late. Term will come into play if he’s going to re-sign or not. Simmonds would look good with the Tampa Bay Lightning, Winnipeg Jets or the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Even the teams that lean hard toward eyeball scouting won't touch him now.
Throw his health and term in the mix, and even half-price isn't gonna get you any takers.
