no chance in hell

Sergachev is still making 894K next season and that's gonna be gold for them

Stralman, Girardi and Coburn all UFAs after season, Sergachev big part of their future

- jimbro83

Think about where the Habs should be right now. They still could have Mcdonagh, Sergachev and Subban.

There’s an increasing belief that projected 1st overall draft pick Jack Hughes may not be ready to play in the #NHL next season. Many believe another year would help him get stronger and better prepare him for the National.

Perfect. Rangers win the lotto, send Jack to play at Michigan with Quinn, Rangers tank 2020 for Alexis Lafreniere. 2025 Stanley cup is ours.

NYR will gladly take Callahan’s contract. (Maybe. I would)
- Nfabz8

Forgetting the whole "young, talented cost-controlled defenseman" thing that others have pointed out...they're not moving one of their top-4 defenseman before the playoffs. Playoff teams don't move out impact roster guys before the playoffs.

You'd be better off hoping for Foote. Still unlikely, but more realistic.

what is he worth?

Probably like a mid level prospect or like a 3rd. He just hasn't been good enough to get more than that.

I know I'm not the most impartial (I genuinely try to be, but I'm still an Isles fan) person to weigh in, but from the outside looking in...probably not all that much. High skill but he's got a career high of 43pts and is scoring at a worse PPG-rate than that this year. Plus he's seems like a bit of a nutjob and he's gotta be considered, at the very least, a medium-flight-risk to go back to the KHL.

Not that they're the same kind of player/person, but he's in "Ho Sang Land" as far as what to do with him. He's got little value in a trade, so it's probably more prudent to just hang onto him instead of trading him for peanuts and potentially watching him go on to be a good player somewhere else.

No apologies required. It's true, the Oilers are the slattern of the NHL.

deadline deals happen so contending teams can improve at the deadline

I dont see a contender improving with Buch

he's a draft day trade, IMO

Buchnevich is PP point scorer 23 of his 76 NHL points on the PP. Giving him zero PP in games isn't gonna help him. Buch and Quinn are gonna clash. That's the long and short of it. Who can wait out the other is key.

idk I think thats kind of a stretch

he could slot into a third line on a contender with some other ruskies on the team and a coach that would put up with his poop

Pretty sure this won't happen. I think he is what he is. Has good skill but really isn't a good player
