He should NEVER hit the ice on the PP
- hehateme

even in a 7-2 game where their pp went 0-3 with only two shots on goal?...what's the difference?

Has anyone sat back and realized that this might be the worst season we have in the next 5-10 years ? Botts might be thinking this is his last shot to draft high. You’re telling me next year we won’t be even better with Eichel, Reinhart, Dahlin, Mittelstadt, Thompson another year older ? Why not throw in the towel one last season and potentially grab another game changer to add to that list (as well as Skinner if he resigns). We are not winning the cup this year. But next year we’ll have money to spend in free agency and a full stocked prospect cupboard. We have all the assets in the world to make this team a perennial cup contender it’s all up to Botts making smart moves in free agency and going 50% on our first rounders over the next two years.

78-79 points gets you 7-9 in most drafts.

High scoring night, New Jersey beat Chicago 8-5, Colorado beat the Leafs 6-3, Philly beat Minnsota 7-4 and this game.

Detroit didn’t seem to suffer letting their prospects develop in Grand Rapids till they were 21-22 years old. Rochester going on a run will be good for those guys. We haven’t won anything NHL/AHL wise in a long time. Why not take the chance. Smith, Nylander, Guhle might make this team marginally better but is it worth it ?

And we are suppose to sit here and be happy? Like 30 days ago we were the BEST team
In hockey. I realize we were very lucky but watching this team the last 30 days. It’s
Like we forgot how to play
And now we are out of a playoff spot. It’s frustrating has hell!! I’m sick of losing and watching shat hockey.

No this is realistic. All the advanced statistics that some on this site don’t believe in have said the Sabres have been average since the very beginning. Sitting here right now we have an average record. All the puck luck we had on the 10 game winning streak was reversed the past 15 games. We are 2-9 in one goal games since winning like 8 or 9 one goal games in a row. Hutton stopped playing like Hasek and Eichel hasn’t been himself or hurt these past 8 games and it shows.

Also, Detroit was always a good team when they let guys marinate down in the A.

There was never any pressure to have them up

We have Kyle Okposo playing a good amount of minutes. There’s pressure

Seriously, you want the Sabres to bench okposo and play cj smith?

Cj would bring more to the team.

What do you do with okposo?
Long term

I dont care isn't a real answer

I feel they are better off winning in the AHL. We’ll have no idea who was right or wrong. I respect your opinion.

Scratch him.

This isn’t a charity.

Karl Alzner was waived
Vinny Lecavalier was bought out
Moulson waived

He’s done. Finished. Needs to leave

they had a really tough transition out of the "Dead wings era"...made the playoffs in the early 80's, but then again nearly every team did...went to a couple conference finals but took a step back...went through five coaches before bowman took over

That's gonna happen when you lose by 5 with 8 even strength goals. No one was a plus, it's surprising no one was worse than -2.

I suggested buy out recently

Something that was overwhelming not popular.

Paying him thru 2028 ?

They may need to give up a first and eat salary to get out.

Just waive him.

I don’t even care. His spot needs to be given to an NHL caliber player

It’s going to take more than that to unload him.

I'd rather pay him to not play for 4 years than pay him to not play for 8. There's not a ton of cap savings to buy him out. And there's no actual savings.

I’m approaching 0 interest in watching this team the rest of the year.

I don’t think I can handle Ristolainen and Scandella playing top pair minutes or Elie ever playing, or Sobotka getting minutes, or Pominville and Okposo playing at all.

All while CJ Smith, Nylander, Guhle, Pilut get sat or stay in Rochester.

It’s a joke.

They had an opportunity to put the gas pedal on and improve the team when they made it to a good spot, and absolutely sat on their hands and blew it

Stick him in the minors just like Wade Redden and wait for a trade or retirement.

Jack needs to suck it up and start to dominate again, he can't go pointless in 5 straight and expect us to win.
