The middle of the projected 1st is full of usntdp/college commits. It's right in the Botterill wheelhouse - Sabresfan-365
Caufield now 2nd in all time goals scored for the program, Cam York with a 7 point night. Turcotte with 4 points. Half that team will go in the first round of this years draft. WHL is strong this year as well. There is going to be some good talent available this year that would have went higher in the previous couple drafts. I’m personally excited. Just hope Botts doesn’t disappoint me.
Yeah .. crap shoot for any team these days . - cabin
it's why i've never understood the Sabres decision to make safe picks like asplund and davidsson.
The picks after around #25 enter crapshoot territory. You're better off going high risk/high reward there.
So what if you can find the safe 3rd pair guy? You can find that guy anywhere. It's the high end talent that's hard to find anywhere but the draft.
I couldn't tell you if the stars are good at drafting, all I know is they managed to find not one, but two guys who could be the best or top 3 in their draft class, in the 5th(!!) round.
Ill take a bunch of duds if it leads to one Klingberg.

Caufield is this years debrincat. I think he's even shorter and weighs less the DeBrincat his draft year but Im not 100% on that.

He would definitely be a target of mine with one of those picks. Even Grimaldi is putting on a show in Nashville as a smaller guy. Botts has stated he wants to bring in trigger men. Caufield fits the bill. As does Arthur Kaliev playing for the Bulldogs right now. I want one of those guys with our picks.
They won’t get this good goaltending all year - sbroads24
The isles absolutely. Montreal 50/50. The Habs have been a surprisingly great puck possession team. If the goaltending can give them any positive value I think they get in.

Montreal has been pretty healthy too though no?
It just seems like they are shooting unsustainably last few weeks too

Remember when lehner "tweaked " his ankle in the first game. Maybe it wasn't his ankle ?
Its similar to the ek9 trade
Damaged goods for tanking
Then hopefully get healthy - Boss34
It was his ankle, he was like 40-50 lbs overweight because of the concussion and not being able to exercise for like 6 months. It was a mistake to let him play when he was that out of shape.

Wasn't that the mentality behind the Laaksonen pick, when everyone went: who?

The last two games the Habs have been outshot 96-50, goaltending was killing them earlier this year though

Picks are like ass scratches . Might feel good at first . but further investigation of that finger pick. reveals the same crap the needs to be washed away . It just stinks - cabin
