Imagine being top 18 in the NHL for all defensemen in points on a terrible playing team right now... and some kid behind a keyboard who doesn't even play in an adult league tell you that you aren't good at hockey.

Sorry just don’t see them winning 23 of the 36 games left.... our last 21 games ( since the win streak) we are 6 wins 15 loses.

I still think they can turn it around.

Yeah I know that's why I put the LOL in there.

Those mistakes can and do happen to every defensemen in the game.

- Stripes77

My bad. Went right over my head.

Yeah, tough break. He didn't have a very good game yesterday, but no one did. Time to move on and fix it.

Dahlin had his best game to date yesterday. Hopefully he can start scoring, he gets himself in a position to quite often. Shot seems to be lacking.

Peaks and valleys guys.

Yeah, they have been pretty high and pretty low, but we are right where we expected to be pre-season. Chill the (frank) out.

This exactly.... we won 10 in a row and suddenly everyone thought we just wouldn't lose another hockey game. Things even out... we are still 2 pts from the playoffs right now. Most of us would have thought that us being 2 pts from the playoffs in the middle of January was unreachable.

Or...... hear me out......

Not play on a 62 point pace after the streak which is the worst in the NHL......
Okposo not being a complete civ.
Not being run out of the building by Edmonton

but hey, expecting too much i guess.

Also, expectations change as a season progresses.

For example a company sets a $100MM sales forecast.

They blow Q1 sales out of the water, ahead by $20MM.
Q2 sales are some of the worst in recent memory.

They are still on pace for right around $100MM sales.

Should they just stay the course, because they are on pace or make changes?

Dude... .poop happens... I don't get how after all these years that you don't get that yet. It's not the NFL... its not 1 game changes your entire season. It's learn and move on. The Patriots got blown out 31-10 by the Titans... should they have packed their sh1t in?

The Leafs are 2-4 in their last 6 games just like the Sabres... should they blow it up too?

so that means that the wins don't count right... So in that case we are again still a 62 point last place team.

Something needs to change with this team and if that is trading Risto or Sam or Nylander I say go for it..

- hehateme

Could be coaching?
Why trade risto when it maybe housleys fault?

Should they throw in the towel because production fell?

What's the alternative to giving them more time and hoping they find success?

I see us still making the playoffs. A lot of these losses literally should have been wins. Young team. The sky isn't falling.

The reactions today though ought to be fantastic.

Bills LT Dion Dawkins believes he "took the foot off the gas pedal a little bit" in 2018.

Coming off a solid rookie campaign, Dawkins took a step back in his sophomore season. "I feel like that I have put some doubt in my coaches' eyes," Dawkins said. "I kind of got comfortable. Well, actually, I did get comfortable. And I shouldn't have." The offensive line is one of Buffalo's biggest areas of need heading into the offseason, so Dawkins bouncing back would be a big boost.

No one is saying throw in the towel.
They are saying changes need to happen.

People need to be held accountable for a 6-15 record since the 10 game win streak.

6-15 in their last 21.
Leafs are still firmly in the playoffs.
Sabres are falling further behind every day.

but hey, its just one game and also compare a Sabres team who has been absolutely awful for 10 years to a Dynasty Patriots team.

I have a great example, I work for a Fortune 500 as a Sales Exec. the BU started the year 120% to plan and ended up at 97% at the end of the year as a whole. Did we blow the whole department up because of our horrendously terrible Q3? NO. Leadership made adjustments and only a couple of people on the bottom of the totem pole were let go.

So changes happened.

That's what people are saying, changes need to happen.

Bring up fresh talent to see if they can perform better than what is happening.

Okposo
Scandella
Pominville
Ellie
Etc.

Need to be sat or waived. They are not cutting it.

Bring up fresh blood to try and spark something here.

well to be fair you work for a Fortune 500 company a place that expects to be good.

Sabres are more like mom and dad's dinner... started off 3 quarter pretty damn good and then tanked in the fourth and first part of the 1st... are you firing the new cook, or staying the course????

Speaking of OL:

Stunner: The #Colts are letting OL coach Dave DeGuglielmo go, sources say. That line made tremendous leaps this season. But Frank Reich wants his own guy. DeGuglielmo was the only offensive coach Josh McDaniels had hired. Reich is actually recommending him to other coaches.

Per a league source, Panthers assistant special teams coach Heath Farwell has been hired by the #Bills as ST coordinator.

Great hire. Here’s a look from back at training camp at what make him and Panthers ST coordinator Chase Blackburn so, well, special:

What a shock...a Panthers guy

how do you get rid of an un-tradable guy.... the only thing I can think of is waive him and send him to Rochester, he's a leader so he should be a good influance on the young kids down there. Either that of he decides screw this and retires... (too good to be true).
