Wasn't that the mentality behind the Laaksonen pick, when everyone went: who?
- kingcong39

Took Klingberg 5 seasons to reach the NHL. Laaksonen is in his 2nd season. Hopefully we've got something there.

Lets just keep drafting and drafting and drafting...guys that are always 3-4 years away...still waiting on Nylander, still waiting on guhle, UPL is at least 4 years away...Samuelsson years away, Asplund, Olafsson, Pekar…hell...even Mittelstadt hasnt proven ANYTHING yet...nothing.

Meanwhile, the guy that you demolished your entire franchise to get is heading into year 5 without even a sniff of the playoffs....yeah...good plan.

you win down the middle. Id easily let Skinner walk (wingers that can score on a line with #9 aren't hard to find), if it meant loadng up on a TRUE #2 center...

If I had my choice between Skinner or RNH/Duchene….Id gladly let Skinner go.

Im sick of waiting. Risto/Nylander/1st for RNH. (I know Edmonton is looking for forwards too)

Fair. How I should have phrased it was...The only wingers Id pay 8-9 million for are The Great 8 and that 88 kid from Chicago

Skinner scores almost on par with them the last 4 years (5 on 5)

Granted he is not in their class, but with the inflation of the cap and salaries I think $7.5-$8 million is about right for Skinner.

Taking into account their ages and Skinner's age I think $7.5 million for 6 years would be a good contract for both sides

I heard on GR this morning that Skinner might just well get 9-10 Mil. I would RUN away from paying that much for him. I love the player but I don't think the Sabres want to do that.

I would trade him at the deadline to the highest bidder...would Toronto be interested?? On GR Kardri's name came up as prob going to be moved out as his role was greatly reduced.

This is just a crazy roomer so for god sake don't bite my head off...

This is all assuming Skinner is too high for us to sign and we are out of the playoffs.

To Toronto
Skinner (Rental)
Risto ( I really don't want to trade Risto but you have to give to get.)

To Buffalo

Nazem Kadri (signed for the next 3 years at 4.5 I think) very cap friendly
Jake Gardiner, UFA but we can sign him... Good Offensive upside.

I would not pay Skinner north of 9 per and I don't think Botts would either. The low 8's is good with me. With the recent slide could Skinner even change his mind and decide to go to free agency? It's possible.

So you're saying that Skinner is above losing?
Skinner is part of the recent slide. If he's going to bail on a team THAT HE IS PART OF because they're struggling, then eff him.

Agreed

Skinner could decide to go to free agency, nothing is set in stone until there is pen on paper, I would like a deal to get done before the trade deadline so they know for sure, but that all depends on what Skinner wants term wise.

I want Skinner signed as well but if he's gonna ask for more than 9 on a contract, Botts should not do it. Hopefully it can get done before the deadline and it's a deal that's fair for both sides.

Bills signed Lorenzo Alexander to a 1 year deal

That answers the leader in the locker room questions for them

You want to trade two younger players that are better for two lesser players that are older. Why would you even add risto to that trade when you could just sign Gardiner in the offseason. Also he's not good at thing called defense.

Carter Hutton has posted two wins in his last 12 starts.

Hutton has registered a save percentage of .898 during that span. He hasn't had much luck lately either with four pucks going off his defensemen and into the net over his past two starts. "It's tough," Hutton said. "It is what it is. I always hold myself accountable. It's easy to sit here and say, 'If this didn't happen, if that didn't happen.' My job is to make saves and right now I've just kind of been — for whatever reason it's just not going my way." He will look to get back on track against Calgary on Wednesday if he gets the nod.

I'm sure jack would love to play against risto for the next 10 years?
Regardless of risto's defensive defenseman status, you dont trade him to a rival for a ufa defensman.

I wouldn't anyways.
Risto has better value regardless

And they shouldn't. The RD side would look awful. Does he have games that frustrates us? Of course. But he's part of this core and I doubt Botts would shop him.

That's a good signing. Bill's need that veteran presence more now, without kyle.

Doesn't hurt us long term.

I actually like Ullmark and for the most part I've been pleased with his play. He's still very young. I have zero faith in Hutton, he's been awful lately. He's just a placeholder for a few years till 6K is ready.

Hutton said this yesterday
We’re obviously not as bad as it’s been right now, and we’re probably not as good as winning 10 in a row," Hutton said. "It’s one of those things just finding that consistency in our game and it’s something we’re struggling with, but rightfully so. We have a lot of 18-, 19-year-olds in our lineup that sometimes they show their age and sometimes our veterans guys haven’t been as consistent as we need to be."

Find it funny since Dahlin is the only 18 or 19 year old on the team. The veterans haven't even been streaky they've been straight awful.
