There are some very notable outliers, like Gio and Letang. The vast majority were picked in the first two rounds. I was looking through and am pretty sure it's 65-70%. A lot of the mid round draft picks were small and drafted before small stopped being as much of an issue (Krug, Yandle, Spurgeon). It's definitely a thing though, a thing Van hasn't been doing for far too long haha. but we've got three now. Seems like JB likes to pick d a bit more than GM's of the past which is very good news. Seems like UFA forwards are easier to land, but I am bias and love the Carolina/Nash/Boston method for sure.
