Huh? Have you check phillys cap situation? They wouldnt need to dump salary for anyone..... - xShoot4WarAmpsx
They need to pay a real NHL goalie to bridge the gap to Hart.
In the next year and a half they need to sign Provorov, Sanheim, Laughton, Patrick, and whoever replaces Simmonds. Even if they buy out MacDonald (which I have no opinion on whether they do or don't) they'll want all the room they can get. Not to mention, they may accept some salary from another team in a trade (possibly for a goalie). |

First, the Weise move looks like a bit of salary clearing as much as a hockey move. So don't be surprised if the Flyers pick up a pricey contract...like a goalie. Second, if there's a current Phantom who could use some NHL time it's Phil Myers.
On that first topic, Jimmy Howard makes $5.5M and would be a good, aging mentor for Carter Hart. - turdadactyl
The Flyers have the ability to add 18M is full season cap hits as of right now. So not really about salary clearing.

1) No they dont. Hart is playing now and he is playing well
2) Provorov is struggling this season and wont see a Nylander type raise.
3) Sanheim wont get such a raise either. He wasnt even a regular last season.
4) Laughton is a career 3rd line player dont know what type of raise you expect there
5) NoPa is signed until end of next year when Weise's contract would end anyways
6) Simmonds isnt going to bring elite talent back. He is going to bring a young player or prospect. One of which wont see a hefty raise for a while
7) AMacs contract ends after next season as well
8) Flyers have roughly 18 mill in free space next season
9) Weise's cap hit is 2.3 mill........
You are completely off base. |

Provorov is going to see a similar cap hit to Nylander. Based on the current upper limit, the Flyers have 31M in cap space for next season with 12 players signed. |

That would be good but I prefer an 8 year deal. |

If this year didn't have such regression, not just some bad games, but serious regression I would agree. |

His play this season does not give me any pause whatsoever.

I'm glad you are confident. Now this is Ghost's 4th season, if this season continues the same that means he has 2 good seasons and 2 down. Better be sure that doesn't happen to Provorov with an 8 year commitment. |

You're baffled that the Leafs don't want to trade a major piece of their roster to become the 4th team already for a player who's only 25??? Really, that baffles you? |

0% chance that the Blues are trading Parayko. I’d say Pietrangelo is possibly available, but for a big price. But now that the Blues have finally woken up, that’s probably unlikely. |
