I'd definitely take Nylander. But I wouldn't give up my left or right nut to get him. - gergeswillems
Why ? you're not using them anyway |

I am surprised the Leafs haven't traded for a good checking Center to replace Bozak. It makes them better now and takes pressure off Tavares and Matthews and it clarifies Kadri's role as a scoring winger moving forward.
And why not move for a top RD now. Toronto is a hostile, impatient market. They are all over Gardiner just like they were all over Larry Murphy and McCabe. It won't ever get better for Gardiner and since there are way less trades during the regular season, it creates slow news days for the media that needs high ratings to get paid, so the media will be all over the Gardiner circus and the hater fans will repeat what the media says. GM Gudas should move Gardiner out now and augment the defense or that same media will turn the magnifying glass to Gudas for ratings. And there are lots of backstabber yes men in the Leafs office that want the GM job. |

Lots of Leafs fans have been all over Gardiner for about 5 years now. This isn't that new.
Radko Gudas is not the GM either. |

So shortsighted.
Post this again in 2 years when he has had 2 solid season.
Leafs are not trading him. This is just click bait. |

If only the Leafs had a budding up and coming 20 point player like the $6 mln dollar man Milan Lucic

Ferland and Brett Pesce would be a very good addition for the Leafs adding to two areas they desperately need, right defence and grit. Moving Kapanen and a 1st would be a reasonabke price. No chance Nylander gets moved before July 1, with his contract, plus his value is at a low right now. |

Kapinen for Dougie Hamilton...just do it and move on
we should have drafted him anyway - that whole Kessel thing (insert fart noise here)
Leafs wont get far without a guy like this
gotta give something to get something |

I'm hoping it's one of three;
Philly for Simmonds and Gudas or;
Carolina for Pesce and Ferland or;
Anaheim for Manson and Ritchie |

* this could be very interesting.
I'd like to see if the Leafs can wiggle Simmonds out of Philly |

If the leafs deal kapanen it has to be a deal that makes them better right now. They want to win now and right now Kapanen is a big part of that team. So they not only need a piece equal to kapanen but also an upgrade elsewhere. I get the sense someone is getying moved.
Marner and Matthews are likely going to take up what space the have next season. Kapanen based off his season will want a raise. Who knows if he will be more open to a bridge deal than willy. Gardiner has to be re signed or replaced and a lot of other guys need to be re signed. Someone is going to be a cap casualty at some point. |

Pretty sure they’re zeroing in on Parayko or Pietrangelo. Not sure what asking price would be. |

McDavid and 8 firsts for either, but we'll throw in Steen, Allen, and a conditional 7th. |

The Leafs absolutely blew it on the Nylander deal.
A cap hit this year of 10.2 and then 5 years at 6.9. is it any wonder there trade options on him are limited. He's a good player but he is a 60 point per year player playing with high end guys. - DEDDIE
