I am surprised the Leafs haven't traded for a good checking Center to replace Bozak. It makes them better now and takes pressure off Tavares and Matthews and it clarifies Kadri's role as a scoring winger moving forward.

And why not move for a top RD now. Toronto is a hostile, impatient market. They are all over Gardiner just like they were all over Larry Murphy and McCabe. It won't ever get better for Gardiner and since there are way less trades during the regular season, it creates slow news days for the media that needs high ratings to get paid, so the media will be all over the Gardiner circus and the hater fans will repeat what the media says. GM Gudas should move Gardiner out now and augment the defense or that same media will turn the magnifying glass to Gudas for ratings. And there are lots of backstabber yes men in the Leafs office that want the GM job.

I would do Ferland, Faulk, and Leafs choice of Mcelhinney or Mrazek for Kap and Garrett Sparks. Then trade Jordan Staal to Pittsburgh for Tristan Jarry and let Jarry and Sparks battle it out for #1. This would help free some salary up to sign Aho and Turbo to extensions and maybe another big contract in a trade or in free agency this summer.

He has actually been playing well lately now that he is healthy.

I am fine with trading him at the deadline for a decent return. But if the Blues are going to get back in the mix for a playoff spot, I could see us keeping him through the end of the year.

They need to make a trade. If they think they can win a Cup with that group they are kidding themselves

The D isnt good at all. Before it wasnt a problem because Andersen stood on his head and the Leafs out scored their opponents. What we are seeing now is what everyone saw just by looking at the D core on paper. They will need a shutdown guy if they want to win a cup. You arent going to consistently score 4+ goals against teams like Tampa.

As if only 2 teams are willing to discuss Nylander, pretty sure every team would be open to acquiring Nylander
