Laaksonen is our best defensive prospect. He is projected to be a top 2 pairing.

He was really impressive at the WJC's this year. He's going to be a really good one.

Impressive. He smoked Gio.

He put'em to sleep, he kept looking back like he was going to dump it and head off, and why wouldn't he had been skating like crazy for over a minute, and then turned on the jets.

I forgot about the return for Bapper. And in my mind, Cronholm got lost in the parade of D draft picks from last year.

Botts has done an OUTSTANDING job of sticking our cupboards with decent defensemen/prospects

Winning the lotto helps of course

We do need to find a long term partner for Dahlin though
My hope is that Borgen can eventually become that guy
Like how Josh Manson- even though he doesn’t have “top pair” talent- has been a great partner for Lindholm
*although they’ve struggled this year a little

I listed him tops as far as guys not in Rochester
Idk if i could see him being a top pair guy?
Dahlin is gonna be so good,
that he probably won’t need a high end talent with him though
So it’ll come down to how he potentially gels with him

He’s still a ways away
But if i had to project Laaksonen NOW,
I’d say 2nd pair- depending on how his defensive game progresses once he comes over

Giordano even thought he was gonna do that
Caught him flat footed, so to speak
Obviously an impressive play by Jack

Flames broadcast version of the highlights (good job by their play by play guys ... from instantly knowing which Sabre has the puck, to the commentary, to the goal calls).

http://www.dtmts.com/?id=2018020723&vid=65000403

FYI, for those of you not familiar with it, DTMTS.com freakin' rules ("don't tell me the score"). It's JUST the highlights - no BS. They don't tell you the score in the beginning, they show just - the - goals (and sometimes a nice save, a post, a penalty) - no stupid background music or no "the Sabres really pulled off a nice win last night, let's see the highlights..." in the beginning. This really comes in handy for the late-night games, or especially the playoff games. I love to wake up in the morning after a bunch of playoff games the night before, go immediately to DTMTS.com, and start playing the highlights for each game. Of course, if we actually made the playoffs, I would watch our games live, even if they started at 10pm or something.

Enjoy !

So Beaulieu isn't really asking for a trade...

#Sabres D Nathan Beaulieu is not demanding a trade, but simply seeking more opportunity to play. Whether it’s in Buffalo or elsewhere is the question, per his agent to The Associated Press. Story upcoming.

He gave up an equal number of bad rebounds/mistakes to big saves. In fact his best save was off his worst give away.

Neither one has really earned permanent starter status.

For the rest of the year it might be best to stick with a win and stay in approach

If he doesn't start Linus tomorrow in Van he's a dumb coach. He's 10-3-3 this year and he should get the net and Hutton the backup.

Normally I'd agree, I think they worry about giving either guy too many starts though.

Brassard's cap hit is 5 mil, Id like to see a little more money go out so there's flexibility at the deadline.

I agree, just spit balling on the idea. I know 89 has mentioned Brassard before but I'm not too interested in him. I would look elsewhere.

Thank god you are not the GM. We are not in cap trouble, he is not a liability on the ice and is actually fitting in nicely with Girgs and Larsson and you want to throw a 1st away.

His cap hit is actually $3M and I still wouldn't want him.
