Brassard's cap hit is 5 mil, Id like to see a little more money go out so there's flexibility at the deadline. - Sabresfan-365
I think the price on Couturier went up after his hatty last night |

He gave up an equal number of bad rebounds/mistakes to big saves. In fact his best save was off his worst give away.
Neither one has really earned permanent starter status. - Sabresfan-365
I agree.
how they play the remainder of the year - more like the first quarter or the second quarter - will be a big part of whether we make the playoffs or not |

Yup Vegas is paying $2 million of his $5 million cap. |

In order of readiness to be called up
-Guhle
top4 talent but has struggled some
-Dougherty
could be a 3rd pair/depth RH guy
-Borgen
solid defensive defenseman, maybe top4
Not yet in Rochester
-Laaksonen (Finland)
puck mover trending upward each year
-Samuelsson (W.Michigan)
another defensive type, top4 talent
-Bryson (Providence)
small offensive defenseman, fringe NHLer
-Linus Cronholm (Sweden)
another stay at home type, depth guy - jdfitz77
I wouldn't mind seeing O'Regan instead of THE Slobotka

I wouldn’t 100% rule it out.
Both coach and Gm want to save their jobs.

yeah but the team in front of him didn't decide to put 3 pucks in the net on him.. so he looks better at the end of the day..
i agree neither has proven they should be the #1 guy |

Thank god you are not the GM. We are not in cap trouble, he is not a liability on the ice and is actually fitting in nicely with Girgs and Larsson and you want to throw a 1st away. - sabresfan69
Well, sure right now and for 1 more year, maybe.
However, at $6m cap hit for 4 more years, fitting in on the 4th line is simply not acceptable...at anytime.
He gives 110% effort but has lost "it"...can you imagine how bad he is going to bevne t year, and then the year after, and the tear after that...and then in his last year.
I too would trade a 1st to dispose of him...unless he told JBotts that he will retire at the end f this tear or next.

I think people forgot who they were talking about and what he is getting paid. I cannot believe anyone WOULDN'T do that. |

i get that.. they really need an upgrade at the center position. I just don't think that player is in our system for the time being |

Bob Murray isn't the type of GM to make panic moves and he's quite stingy when it comes to making trades. Having said that, anything can happen of course. |

The Sabres don't have to make a move for the sake of making a move.
Would like to see them draft 3 firsts unless they make a big spash for a difference maker. |

Not directed at you, no anyone in particular...
Just my response to the though of acquiring him.
31 year old rental.
I don't understand why they would trade an asset for him?
Sign him in FA for a year or two if they want him.
Why give up an asset on this team, at this time. |

they need another 2/3 center that can immediately step in.. otherwise they will not be able to make the playoffs |

Botterill has only $3.5 million in cap between the two of them. When you factor that in, goaltending has been okay. It's definitely not stellar, and could be better, but it's okay. The team in front of them needs to make up for their shortcomings, plain and simple. |

I don't see either as being on the hotseat this year.
Housley has shown signs that his system, when played properly can win games.
He does not yet have enough horses to have it executed consistently on ice.
Not having the horses is not his liability.
JBotts inherieted a mess of an organization and has shown enough to warrant staying to see this through. He still has a ton of work to do no doubt, but you don't eat an elephant in one bite, rather one bite at a time. He has had one TDL, one offseason and one draft to begin to execute his plan...each one has been decent. This season we start to see them liberate the roster deadweight players on expensive contracts given their production.
He has two more seasons in my mind.
