Once Gardiner is gone, you need to have a replacement. Until we know who that is, not sure how we can say they will be better

Dermott's playing soft minutes with Oz right now, so he could get buried playing with Z.

I like Dermott a lot, but I think I'd rather him play with Rielly because even on the right side, Rielly/Hainsey see lesser competition than Jake/Z and Dermott would have Rielly playing with him, not Zaitsev.

I've been harping on this for a while, but this seems like a free upgrade at D to me:

Rielly Dermott: Dermott is better than Hainsey, Rielly has less heavy-lifting to do.
Gardiner Zaitsev: same; our shutdown pair that do fine at it for the most part.
Hainsey Oz: Hainsey can mentor Oz, be way more effective at evens playing less and still PK.

I think Rielly Hainsey have seen less comp then last year but they're still sharing it with Jake and Z....not much less IMO

Last game Mackinnon had 12 mins vs Rielly and 2 mins vs Gards

Bruin game Rielly had 11 mins vs Bergeron line and Gards had 2 mins again.

I think Babs likes 1 skater 1 stay at home on the pairs..not sure Rielly Dermott would happen..JMO

Nobody takes into account how poopty it is for Gardiner to play with Zaitsev.

For Z it’s either panic and throw it to Gardiner or bang it off the glass back to the opposition. Which is a giveaway that doesn’t actually register as a giveaway in the stats.

And you would think every team in the league knows this...it’s very easy to exploit.
