Maybe they could double down so-to-speak, and acquire a forward for Beaulieu and a pick? He hasn't been bad. His RFA status must intrigue some teams. |

I liked his game for a good stretch this year but like you said, anyone on the blueline not named Dahlin has looked shaky for the last month. |

i'll take a fourth (hopefully a third) and call it a day...they need roster space and I don't think hunwick is going anywhere |

dahlin's regained his early-season form...thought he struggled for a little while there...that Edmonton game was a trainwreck...it happens |

I think you're right. At the moment, it seems safe to say that Sheary will not meet the conditions required to turn the 4th to a 3rd. No reason to trade Hunwick to fulfill the conditions.
However, if the firsts are truly untouchable, I would trade Beaulieu and that 3rd for a speedy winger who could maybe score some goals. In other words, I'll pay you Tuesday for a hamberder today |

You forgot one thing; that Scandella should be pushed down the depth chart below Beaulieu. He is the one that should be sitting on a more consistent basis. This is on Housley not Sitting that piece of garbage scandella |

I've said it before, and i'm going to stick to it...I cannot understand the hate directed at Scandella...I see a lot of it on twitter and it seems to snowball...he ain't great, but he's better than both beaulieu and hunwick, as well as nelson at this juncture, imo |

There should be many suitors for him. A conditional third should be doable if he resigns since he is an RFA. He just turned 26. Tons of potential, which is why the Sabres moved for him. |

I think they are pretty interchangeable. This time last year Scandella was higher in the pecking order, now I'm not sure that's warranted. His giveaways seem to always be untimely and his effort has waxed and waned.
If they trade Scandella and put Beau in his spot, I won't think it a downgrade. An argument can be made either way I think. |

They are not going to bury an alternate captain in the minors. - Powerslave
They put him on the 4th line already
If he keeps playing like he is the minors is the next step |

I'm waiting for a healthy scratch.
I am still rooting for Kyle because of his character, but it's tough. |

How tradeable is a 3rd with both Sheary and Hunwick conditions attached? Seems like a messy trade that requires adding another pick with a conditions on it. We're already down 2 picks in 2020.
Would JB be OK possibly not picking between the 1st and 6th rounds? I think he's more likely to deal in prospects instead of picks.

All he has to say is, "I'm not going to trade Hunwick. The third is yours. If Sheary miraculously scores 14 goals in the next 35 games, I will add a pick or give you our 2020 second" |

There are a few guys out there in the rumor mill that could possibly be available in a deal for Beaulieu. From TSNs list here https://www.tsn.ca/duchen...rade-bait-board-1.1242403 I would look at a few wingers that are RFAs or have term. Not looking for a rental and a lot of teams look to add defensive depth for a playoff run. With Nate's age and RFA status, I think a hockey trade could be made rather than just getting a pick back.
Kasperi Kapanen or Andreas Johnson from Toronto. Both have been in the rumor mill for a while and Toronto is in need of defensive help.
Jesse Puljujarvi from Edmonton, everything from above applies to the Oilers as well.
Andre Burakovsky: Caps have traded for a dman every February for at least the 5 years.
There are definitely other options, but just looking at young forwards that are also RFAs. |

I doubt highly we trade with TO. Burakovsky and Pul will be pricey. Not sure we're buyers like that at this time. I expect Beau and a pick for a forward, maybe a prospect swap or a 2 for 1 to lessen contracts. Not sure we're going to be too excited about what happens at the TDL. Love the guys you picked though! |

Agreed. Problem being, aside from 1st's, our picks the next 2 years are limited and messy. JB doesn't strike me as a guy who wants to go deeper into debt on picks.

He's traded a 3rd twice (Pominville, Beaulieu), and a conditional 3rd once (Sheary). If anything, he's shown that's the pick he'll move.
Edit, forgot Skinner too |

Blow-you leaving the Sabres whether it be through a trade, waivers or a bus ticket back home is a positive thing. Hopefully Botts can get a 4th or 5th for him or a solid AHLer who will help the Amerks out. Blow-you blew from day one. Good riddance.
The interesting thing is that Sabres management might be able to learn from this situation. Maybe they could sit Okposo for a while and he will asked to leave the organization as well? So far sitting guys has worked wonderfully (twice) for the Sabres - Berglund and Blow-you. Do it Housley! |

Again, JB doesn't strike me as someone who wants to trade away all his mid-round picks.
