Maybe throw Olofsson in there, I would be surprised if Guhle is still with the organization when next year starts - mattmoulson
Olofsson will stick imo. And he's swedish.
I like Guhle, still think he might have a future here but he's had his struggles in Rochester this year. |

Could one of you knowledgeable gentlemen tell me the chances of signing Skinner. Or some other stud. Whats our cap space in relation to everyone else? Thank you - 11BUFFALO11
75%
Depends on whether or not Skinner wants to be here long term, or just decides he wants to see what’s out there
I don’t think $$$ would be an issue
A long term deal would likely be around
8-8.5mil per season

I believe the talk is the reason Guhle hasn't had a great year so far is he's been asked to focus more on the defensive side then being his normal jump into the rush, offensive self. |

I understand why people are cautious about moving Risto
I like watching him play (when he is playing well)
If you get a good offer for him you must listen...but I would have a plan in place to get another RHD for the top 4, like maybe send St. Louis's first back to them for Parayko...
Then move Risto for a much needed 2nd line center + (if his value is high around the league you could get more than just 1 player for him)
Blues 1st plus Nylander for Parayko
Risto and 1 of these three Bailey/Malone/ O'Regan for RNH and Puljujarvi
Basically what I mean is you don't trade Risto unless you have a plan in place to replace him on the blue line (I don't think McCabe is good enough to be a 20 minute player) - Stripes77
Exactly
And playing McCabe on the TopPair on his off side sounds a hell of a lot like playing a LW at 2C and expecting it to work out well for us |

Use the draft picks this year. Rid yourself of the deadweight, then make that kind of decision next season. Like you said, Murray moved to fast. It’s not that the ROR trade was terrible, it was just a year early. If Murray takes another year to asses what we have then we possibly have Eichel-Matthews/Dubois-ROR down the middle right now. Or Laine/Tkchuck on Eichel’s wing. - Pegullaville
But also likely no Dahlin.... |

In a vacuum, it’s a decent trade
But that leaves our RH defensemen as:
Bogo... and Nelson...
that’s it
And we are one sneeze away from Bogo getting hurt (🤞) and Nelson being our top RH defender
You absolutely can’t do that unless there’s also a plan to being in another top4 RH guy

From Metzler's article on Leire
"...he was a regular in Dave Hakstol's lineup in the early part of the season as part of a fast-skating checking line with Scott Laughton and Raffl. The line generated a lot of puck pressure and scoring chances relative to its role, but Leier and Raffl struggled to finish off any of their opportunities."
Wasn't expecting Wayne Gretzky in return for Bailey, but seems like they acquired the same profile, just alot smaller. Like some one said, maybe balanced the LW RW #'s is all I can think of.
With an inability yo finish, he'll fit right in on the big club.
A meh trade. |

Maybe Botts scouted him back in 2012 and liked him but was drafted by Philly in the 4th rd. He's an ahl'er and doubtful he'll get called up ahead of other guys. Bailey just fell down the depth chart in the organization.

What is this obsession (not you, just in general when HB posters on here talk about trading w the Oilers) with Puljujarvi?
I don't get it. The guy is terrible. We'd probably get the same production up here out of ANY of our AHL guys. |

Early in the season Guhle was on the 2nd pairing as Pilut-Redmond was the top d pair. He had major defensive lapses and wasn't even effective on the rush. His play has picked up lately. He could go via the trade route or maybe he'll get a shot next year. He could be an attractive piece in a trade, who knows. |

A) The graph had to be isolated by position to get only dmen. Otherwise, it was littered with forwards.
B) The line that Dahlin exceeds is labelled, at the bottom, "Fwd Avg"

I have been on this train for the past month or so, for sure.
Speaking only for me any trade for Pujujarvi
-Was as a secondary asset to be included in a larger trade, predominantly for RNH
-acknowledged his underperformance so far, and stated the acquisition in a chnge of scenery scenario
- included Nylander, for change of scenery and acknowledge his rather slow, under achieving performance
- considered the terror he was in Juniors (sure he had GREAT linmates, but he kept up and produced)
-considered a pretty goodctransition to the AHL...and hopes with time it translates to the NHL
It is a claculated risk, low risk high reward....a flyer

But Puljujarvi has been underachieving as an NHLer. You know what you're getting w him. He is the next Linus Omark.
You don't know what you're getting with Nylander as an NHL player yet. You wanna trade apples for apples? Trade the Oilers Larsson for Puljujarvi, and even then I'd still hate that trade.
But not as much as I'd hate to see the Sabres trade for Muzzin. I truly detest that player. |

Puljujavi might need a change of address to kick start his career.
Nylander needs a kick in the ass.
We haven't been able to see what nylander can do at the nhl level, because he has been average to the ahl level |

Idk, I'd rather stick w the "kick in the ass" player than the player who already has 130 NHL games and only 15 goals. I feel we know what we're getting.
But I'm not an NHL scout, so what do I know? Maybe a change is good. Girgensons might need a change, too.
Maybe dad takes both Nylander boys out back this summer and kicks both their asses. |
