“We don’t have anybody in our organization right now who’s ready to step in and fill Alex’s shoes,” Benning said Wednesday. “He’s probably our best penalty killer on the back end and he plays on our power play. He’s physical. He plays a good all-around game for us. We don’t have anyone in our system right now who can replace that.”
More Jesse Puljujarvi to Vancouver?
JD Burke of Sportsnet: Again, the question asked is should Jim Benning explore the option of trading for Puljujarvi. The big concern remains the seven points per 34 game pace with linemates like a Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and 12 minutes of even strength time a night. This would be a reclamation project.
With the emergence of Lukas Jasek, does Benning let the prospects develop? Acquiring picks becomes more paramount but yes, inquiring about Jesse Puljujarvi is fine. |

I watch whenever I can too but I did tell my oldest daughter that I would watch Hotel Transylvania 3 with her tonight. Maybe i'll just start her movie a little earlier then I had planned and I can do both. |

Edler will be back next year.
Edmonton wants a legit top 6 scoring winger badly so I think it's more likely that they package Pool Party along with a pick for one instead of trading him for scraps or a pick. |

After a very fun game on Wednesday against Edmonton, I'm excited to head back to the rink again tonight for Thatcher Demko's season debut.
Still can't quite get over this idea of entertaining, meaningful hockey in January!

If you dont think Colorado and Minnesota are easily quite a bit better than us than thats your opinion... but man do ever disagree! - neem55
It's not an opinion it's fact bud. You can disagree all you want but the numbers dont lie.
Colorado are a 1 line team after that Soderberg, Compher and Kerfoot as secondary scoring and after that it drops off Mount Everest. Varlamov has basically the same numbers as Marky. They've been extremely healthy so injuries arnt to blame. They've gone 1-8 in OT. First 20 games 10-10 (wins loss) next 20 - 9-11 and then 2-6. They've been below average all year - consistently - just like us.
Minny, same thing, very healthy all year except Dumba for 14gms, Dubnyks numbers slightly better than Marky. They were 12-8 in their first 20 games, then 8-12 and now 3-4, they had a bad stretch where they went 3-10. Staal, Koivu, Nino, Zucker, Coyle have all regressed and its resulted in less wins - than what we're used to seeing in the past 6 years. |

Well Linden was apparently fired because he wanted a slower rebuild so if that's true then yeah, I think that's a long shot. Especially with how EP has lit the league on fire.
They'll likely want to make a splash in free agency and push for the playoffs next season. - Nucker101
Can they afford Panarin and Karlsson with Sutter, beagle, Ericsson and rousell in the lineup? If they could land those two players they'd be a contender for at least 5 years. |

Go to a game, bar, etc and there's plenty of dudes who will proudly say that Gudbranson is one of their favourite Canucks. There's also some posters here that I believe will have no problem admitting that they'd like to see Gudbranson here long-term. - Nucker101
I like Gudbranson not a fan of Benji. My eyes are also not glistening with delight about Guddy either. You get what you get from him. |
