Pettersson never shoulder checked to find a guy when he was in the slot defending. Legit just stood there like he was at home still watching Saturday morning cartoons. Then JJ gets it and instead of making a bankable pass that a winger(Phil) might be able to catch, he basically hard rims it

Not that it’s Casey’s fault, but did anyone think Murray should’ve started this game and not last night? That seems odd to me now that I think about it

Johnson makes me want to (frank)ing hurt myself

I don't understand how you can watch this team game after game and decide "yeah let's swap oleksiak and riikola." And never, not.once, scratch Johnson. Its pathetic coaching.

Whole trips been a disaster.

Beaten soundly by a good sharks team. Straight tailed out by a Kings team playing out the string. Lucky to pull it out in overtime against a plucky but talentless coyote team. Then full on cucked with a six spot tonight. Just rough stuff all around.

Rough start to trip as well falling down early to Anaheim

0-1 with Hornqvist back in the lineup... totally kidding! At least now some of these guys get some time off. Enjoy football tomorrow everyone

Missed the game. Was it as bad as the scoresheet shows? Ugly for almost everyone

I saw somewhere Malkin and Kessel had a 17 corsi? Glad they got put back together. They make some pretty plays because they are two talented players, but overall their chemistry is vastly over-rated. Advanced stats show they were better apart than together last year as well.

I didn’t think they were terrible tonight. Malkin was still bad in the D zone which is happening too often regardless of who he’s been playing with. Too many odd man rushes against as well. It was a really bad game for a lot of the guys. We never should’ve traded Grant, GMJR doomed us all

Sloppy game. The Pens looked like a team that just played the back to back of a long road trip.

It’s an easy game to pick on or two players out to blame, but it just was what it was.

I'm not basing it just on tonight. Malkin played at an MVP level the second half of last season with Hornqvist or Rust as his RW, yet everyone still wanted Kessel there. They're not that great together.

Know this was probably sarcasm, but they'd have lost Grant on waivers soon anyways, might as well get a young depth player with control for him. Grant was fine, but nothing they will miss.

The Pens just have the feel of a mediocre team this year. With Crosby, Malkin, Kessel and Letang all healthy they are a playoff team but they are going to need wholesale changes if they want to do anything in the playoffs.

This is why I'm hoping the don't go half way with any of the moves they make. Brassard was a half way move last year, a #2 center on a bad team.

As far as I'm concerned they have Brassard, Maata, Johnson, Jarry along with 1sts in 19&20 to make a big move with. In the right situation you also have Kessel and Schultz who could be moved. I just don't want to sell low on Brassard and then trade a first and a prospect for a mid 6 rental.

Johnson is negative value for a trade. I would be glad just to dump him.

I just hear the rumors out of St Louis about Tarasenko, Schenn, Parayko and Pietrangelo all possibly being available and get excited about a blockbuster.

Brassard to the oilers seems like a no brainer. Really a perfect fit with a GM who overpays. Pretty sure Montreal was one of the teams in on Johnson in the off-season... Just saying.

With all this trade talk. I was thinking if Pengujns are scouting Benn since he seems to be someone Dallas is down on.

BENN would be huge for us but we'd have to sell the team and the farm

Alrighty... what happened this game? Saw the first, and got a smidge disgusted... then it was background noise for part of the 2nd till I went to bed.

We’re really over reacting to a back to back dud on a West Coast trip here, guys. Not the best road trip, but we’ve been short handed and now Hornqvist is back and each day brings us closer to Schultz. Take the L and move on.

Blow it up, trade Malkin and Crosby for tons of picks and prospects. Fire Sully and JR.

Hope in 3-4 years Guentz can carry this team to a Cup with the young blood.

There are games where I think JJ gets too much blame, but last night was not one of those nights. Sully and JR are deluding themselves if they think he's consistent enough for a playoff run. What an awful player.

That third pairing got waaaay too much time with Geno and Kessel last night and basically knee capped them all game long. Not going to blame him entirely for the 2nd line getting crushed....Pettersson sucked too, but Vegas made that pairing look like a joke.

Its beyond unfair to Petterson having to prop up a player who is near the 9th Dman on our roster skill wise into a 3rd/2nd pairing caliber. This could legit (frank) up his entire development and growth having JJ as his cinderblock partner.

Think about that.... A rookie needs to prop up a 12 year vet. It's comical.

It's funny how Dumoulin had his worst game ever and no one mention his name. He (frank)ed up big time many many times.

I generally like Pettersson but he might be the softest defenseman I've ever seen
