Lmao, a back to back 60 point season NHL player only needs two games to get acclimated???? - ClaudeFather
A back to back 60 point player needs a month...
P.S. I even knocked off a couple weeks since it's been a month and a half, plus the other couple weeks I was told he needs....imagine if I said 2 months how silly would that be

I mean it took JVR just about two months to finally look good again after injury, what's so hard to comprehend? Not the exact same scenario but still.

Exactly....JvR.....well technically the sit down with the coach is what got him going, not healing.
1) Ok so that means he just needs to get in-game timing down, for a back to back 60 point scorer that's a couple games
2) It's ALREADY been a month and a half...a couple more weeks? Sooooo 2 months to get back to being a 60 point guy. Wait how many months is preseason?
Wow, absolute WOW. Imagine if every NHL player needed 2 months to get their game timing and adjust to pressure to begin every season... - Glak18
Its not the same thing omg seriously. At preseason all players are at the same level. As the preseason finishes they are back in game shape. Half way through the season the players hit another level. Nylander has practiced. Thats it. In one month he is at the level everyone else was half a season ago. Intensity gets way higher half way through the season. He will produce again and there will be a time where teams start to wear out and he eill be a guy who will be tearing it up because he is fresh

It's not hard to comprehend that Nylander has had more than enough time to get his game back and anything else is just an excuse. He wanted to play hardball and act like a prima donna. Now it's past time to start producing.
A top player might play how many games in pre season action before the season starts? That's also not hard to comprehend.

Umm a top player might play in 6+ pre season games, has been skating with NHL players for over a month before the season officially starts, and also is getting himself acclimated like every other player. Way different then jumping into the season 30 games in, can you comprehend that?

Did JvR play against Boston? I don't recall seeing him. - Scoob
He actually didn't have a terrible game, obviously he didn't register a point and had a couple defensive breakdowns, but there were a couple plays I noticed giving effort. One play specifically where he was along the boards, the puck popped out and he ACTUALLY reached to pushed towards a defenseman to transition out.
So since his talk with Gordon, 4 games, he has scored in 3 of the first 4, but the first one of the 4 he had a rough first half with turnovers.

I realized why there are differences in opinion on multiple things the last couple days with certain people.
I guarantee the age groups between the two outlooks are way different.

Millennials !!!!! - ClaudeFather
You got it. The spoiled mentality. Stats are EASY to look at and the incredibly lame excuses to justify poor performance.
I worked with a kid who kept messing up his projects end of last year, his reasoning? He was tired...seriously he said he was tired and that's why he couldn't get things done. You get paid to do your work, not to just show up. He also complained a lot how working 40 hours a week was exhausting. Well he should be well rested now that he has no job.

"I have a tremendous amount of respect for Wayne Simmonds, but we have to look at our cap situation moving forward,” said Fletcher, who said Simmonds “has been a warrior for this franchise and is still a heck of a hockey player.”
Fletcher won’t allow Simmonds to reach free agency without getting something in return – like the Islanders did last year with John Tavares.
“That won’t happen,” Fletcher said. “The goal would be to either have him signed or moved by the trade deadline.” - nastyflyergirl
I'm still ok with him staying if length and money is feasible.

Yep....this all started with millenials

Nope, not at all. All generations have had these issues, but the easier life becomes with technology advancements, the more expectations get lowered to fit into what is considered standard.

I agree, the level of play in the regular season is much higher than in pre season which means he should get up to speed quicker, not slower. Can you comprehend that? How about comprehending that he has played 18 games and has scored 1 goal? Not complicated. He acted like an entitled douche bag and held out and got the big money. Now it's time to produce. No BS excuses.
