He will be remembered as the pick that got Hexy fired

When it comes to the draft, I'm more worried about missing Pryor than I am about Hextall.

I heard Hextall didn't want to pick Hart, but Pryor forced him into it.

Good for Pryor and actually good for Hextall for listening to someone that reported to him. Mostly good for the Flyers.

I still would of gone with Dominik Bokk, I feel the same as I did then.

I didn't really hear that. I was just making stuff up in order to besmirch Hextall's reputation. Seems to be all the rage these days.

Cates does seem like a good late round find. It will be a great pick if/when he makes it. I won't form an opinion on O'Brien until after his sophomore year. Kid went straight from high school playing against 16 & 17 year olds to playing against all guys older than him.

Whenever they went out to dinner on scouting trips and at the draft, Hextall would insist on ordering for everyone to make sure they ate properly.

Deciding how to proceed this year does bring furrowed brows together in painful winces. So let's get the first comment out of the way 'OWW! This season hurts!'
We have a minimal 'team' but lots of quality components. Many of the highly regarded are failing to prove what we believed about them.

Most surprising is who they are (to me). Ghost and Provorov need to be sent to the psychologist that our kiddie goal tender is tended by. If it's just mental tweaking, there's a potentially easy cure.

If it's something physiological, Provy is more suspect. It seems that his blanking out and the resultant errors could be sight related or the processing of what he is seeing or not seeing. He makes a LOT of mistakes with the puck. From the failing to clears, overly optimistic passing and clumsy general confusion, my estimation (I am SO amateur!) is it's systemic and new.

Jake does much of the same crap but that is how he plays the game. Provy never hinted at being sloppy until recently.

Ghost needs to find himself and become a calmer guy when playing.
He reminds me of teenage drivers who depend more on their principal resource reflexes, than skill or experience. He is too confident when he should be conservative in his play. I expect him to emerge from this year as more mature in his game and will meet expectations without a major overhaul.
Provy has something broken and needs help.

I am an ignorant man but I pay attention to this team. This posting can be cast off as just an individual's impressions. I assert no authority as I have none. Fifty years of inactive peering has not made me a hockey expert.

Apparently I need to go out to dinner with Hextall, I could benefit from losing a few pounds.

And while we're on that topic, I'm only one goal behind Patrik Laine in NHL goals scored in 2019.

I believe in you. Until Winnipeg comes to town the 28th, then you have some catching up to do.

Sure would be nice if Harper/Machado would sign a (frank)ing deal sometime this year.

At this point I think they're waiting each other out so they can drive up the price even further for themselves.

No Weise at practice. They are treating him like he's the guy who has been charged with a drug offense and took two terrible penalties in five minutes of ice time in the last game.

If anyone here has connections with Flyers management, I really would love to know what the hell is going on.

Weise was waived. Why would he be at practice?

Hope they land at least one if them. Don't think Trout in 2020 is happening.

He was waived, but not sent to the Phantoms, so he's still on the Flyers roster. Hextall waived him in October, and he didn't stop going to practice then.

I don't think you actually understand what waivers are in the NHL.

Nobody claimed him and Fletcher didn't reassign him for the time being.

I wonder if he’s in some sort of doghouse for his post game interview a week or two ago. Forget which game it was but he was saying I haven’t seen anything like this for a franchise in this short of time referring to firings/coaching changes and the goalies.

So the Flyers are going to go to Montreal with only 12 available forwards.

It's one game what's the issue? Someone get hurt in the morning skate, not worried about that.
