It's crazy to think that with the void of talent this team seems to have that he could be having a career year better than when he won the Hart. With Kane we have a legit chance that this team can get back to a Playoff level of hockey and have a chance to compete for a Cup again if Stan can put a few key pieces around this team...but as previously mentioned, if someone offers the "motherload" (which for the record I do not see happening) of a deal that just puts your Franchise in such a good spot getting players who can help now, prospects who can help soon, and draft picks that can help down the line you'd have to entertain it at least.

I for one would like to see Patrick Kane play his entire career for the Chicago Blackhawks and see his number 88 hang in the rafters shortly there after. I think there are more than a few guys from this "Golden Era" of hockey the Blackhawks have played for us that deserve to retire as Hawks and see their numbers retired as well. We were spoiled by the greatness we got to see out of those guys on a nightly bases and I dunno if we'll ever see something close to that in our lives again. Kane may go down as the greatest Blackhawk player ever if he keeps up this level of play for a few more years.

That was a roof game. Mike Richards scoring with what 10 secs or so left in the 3rd to tie it?

But Toews to Kane for the clincher in OT to go back to the Stanley Cup Finals. That is the Hawks dynasty right there.

That highlight gives me goosebumps. That and Keith's goal in game 6 against the Lightening.

#88 is a generational player. Like #21, he should play his entire career in Chicago and retire with a boatload of records and honors. We're fortunate to have him.

19 is my jersey and all time favourite Hawk, but Kane will go down as the greatest offensive player Hawks have ever had, full respect to the Golden Jet, Stosh, Savy etc., Kane can keep playing at this level for as long as he wants, he plays wing, up and down, never gets touched and scores, a lot, end of story, will also go down as greatest offensive American player ever. Favourite moment for me was after they won their first cup in '10 and Kane was clearly more than juiced at the parade, Pierre Maguire asked him if he was gonna behave today and he said, "not a chance..."

Thank you. I've never actually seen any version of the show, just heard things about it. Always thought the Tardis was a phone booth. Forgive the ignorance avid followers.

He still has those hands, even after the wrist surgery. That move he made at center ice against the Ranger defender in the third period, he made it look so easy, he made the defender look so foolish, I think the defender is still looking for his cup.

But according to the Blackhawks morality blog, he still should of been traded, and is still called garbage for the incident in Buffalo, even though none of the allegations have been proven.

(MORE) AWARDS & ACHIEVEMENTS
339 Career goals
3rd (and soon to be 2nd) on All-time Assist Leaders on Blackhawks
5th All-time in GWG by a US Player (as of Dec 2018 - 8 more to first)
12 straight seasons with 20+ goals (rare achievement)
1st, 2nd, or 3rd star of the month in NHL too many times to count
7th US-born player with 300+ Goals & 500+ Assists
(and because the NHL stats page is so worthless, I can't easily find the others)

And, a new section for the resume (albeit it one ripe with trolling opportunities, so just don't):

COMMUNITY RELATIONS
* Runs summer mentoring program for Blackhawks rookies
* Giver away of at least one puck per game to a child in the stands
* Main draw for the Special Olympics charity hockey game and the Chicago Professional Hockey League
* Regular visitor to Lurie Children's Hospital to brighten days of children with serious illnesses and their families

Kane should retire a Blackhawk if that is his wish (it is mine).

The sad part is we seem to be entering another high-scoring era in the NHL and that might water down his otherwise incredible statistics in the history books. We know what we saw and how hard it was for him to rack up those numbers in his era. Reminds me of Maris and his 61*.

It is now an appropiate time in his career to accept the challenge of being the driving force for this team. Sure others can and will fill that role - like DeBrincat - but I am thinking more along the line of how Karlsson was the driving force for an Ottawa team a couple years back which went farther in the playoffs than anyone imagined.

I think you play this like Sakic played the Duchesne thing. Dangle the carrot and wait for someone to blow your doors off with a franchise altering offer. No desperation to make the move, and with his talent, it would be a seller's market... See what comes to pass and go from there. Would you not trade him for the next McDavid along with other pieces? See what you can get, and if it aint enough, then let it ride and let Kaner keep selling tickets.

I missed something last night between Pat's "Turdy" broadcast and a bit of nagging at home, who was benched so that Kane had to triple shift in the third?

You cannot trade a talent / game changer / production driver / superstar like Kane and get anything approaching value back. No team is going to give you so much back that it devastates their future with Kane - and that’s the only return you would accept.

It’s never happened.

You only move Kane if you don’t think you’ll be able to rebuild into a contender quickly enough to capitalize on Kane’s remaining career.

If Stan thinks that - get rid of Stan today - he’s definitely not the GM you want / need.

My story about Kane doesn't have to do with his hockey accolades, which I do have a lot of fond memories of, but rather about the naming of my son.

The year was 2015, and my wife was pregnant, and the Hawks were on their way to winning another cup. We are driving in the car one day trying to think of some boy names. I had become a hockey fanatic by now, so of course I am trying to think of hockey player names that would make a good baby name. I finally think of Kane, because not only is he my favorite player, but Kane is a nice strong name. I bring it up to her thinking that she is just going to immediately shoot it down, but to my surprise she mulls it over for a minute, and then says "a nice strong name, I like it!"

Now, a week before the due date, the allegations about Kane come out. My wife is asking me whether we should change the name. But, we had already told so many people and had gotten some gifts with his name on it. I tell her, "Hell no, we aren't changing the name. I don't believe any of this BS, and even if he is convicted, I will never believe it!"

So my sons name is still Kane, and luckily the allegations were completely unfounded.

I say he plays his whole career with Chicago, and retires as the Best Blackhawk player ever.

Powers hasn't heard the rumor about Mitchell staying, he should know more soon. Hope we can see the kid soon.
