ETA: no slam on Waite, who from all evidence is an excellent goalie coach. . .but coaches can get into a rut too, trying to fit everyone into the same style that has worked for others

And the 6 wins were because 12/19/88 were scoring at a goal/per/game RACH pace. That wasn’t sustainable even if Scottie Bowman were the coach.
