#Sabres prospect Oskari Laaksonen left today's Liiga game after having his wrist cut by a skate. Fortunately, he will only need stitches according to the broadcast. The injury could have been a lot worse. - kingcong39
I am, but I don't use it. Thanks for the info. That's good news. |

I called you a homer so you put words into my mouth?
Remove that 10 game win streak and we are 14-18-6 for 34 points.
Even pro-rated, that makes us a bottom 5 team.
We will finish bottom-10 at this rate. - BeadyEyedDouche
Sure, but you can't take away the good without talking about games they should've won that they got unlucky in. |

That 10 game win streak was not good. Im not taking anything away. It is what it is. We will see. Obviously I hope for the best but unless this team wakes up, we are picking top 10. |

There was nothing impressive about it. We get to keep it so its a moot point. Fact of the matter is we have been slowly but surely sinking in the standings since. Not treading water. Drowning.
And the excuse brigade is back in full force.
Im certainly not comparing this season to previous seasons and Im not saying blow it up.
I also dont think Housely is the long-term solution here.
And calling his style aggressive or attacking is laughable. I constantly see our defense peel off at the point and if they dont do that they get caught too deep in the offensive zone. Its not aggressive its reckless and thoughtless. |

We came back to earth. Idk if Housley is right for the job, that is to be determined. I do know that Pilut still has to develop, sending him to Rochester will help with that. Scandella, Beaulieu, Hunwick and Nelson need to be upgraded. Apart from the top line, Mittelstadt, Thompson, Dahlin, and Risto I could see a whole new team and an assistant coaching staff that can coach a PP and PK |

Im done with Risto after that poop he did against Vancouver where he skated through 4 guys and whipped the puck all the way back into his own end ON THE POWER PLAY |

I get what you're saying, but if you're removing the games they got lucky in and won when they should've lost(not the entire streak either), you have to add the games they got unlucky in and lost, like last night.

That was odd, I don't think he thought the entire Canucks PK would stop at the line without challenging him. It was late in the game, they were down by one, he kept possession instead of flinging it into the zone where they almost certainly lose it. IIRC Jack actually had a nice look on the ensuing rush. |

I posted yesterday, if you isolate the 10 games, and use their other 38 games to forecast the results of the remaining 34 games, they end up with 85 pts. So, points with keeping the 10 game streak inplace.
Last year, 2017-2018 season, 85 pts would land a team in 20th of the 31 teams.
Therefore picking 12th...unless they got lucky in the lottery.
The 85 point projection feels right to me as a reflection of their overall play so far.
Picking 12th would be good, especially if the Blues pick ends-up somewhere near there as well.
Maybe JBotts packages those 2 1st and Nylander for the 1st overall! Kappo Kakko!!! |

Leafs 2019 first round pick, Jeremy Bracco, and Timothy Liljegren for Ristolainen and a pick?

Risto for Marner and Dzingel, they have to figure out to get Ryan from Ottawa. No picks |

Wouldn't you rather go after Mark Stone in FA, if he makes it there? |

Half serious should we move Risto to RW, similar to what the Sharks did with Burns? |

It was good, now that this team is struggling, we’ll find out the issue by the end of the season:
Management? I think not, Bottcoin is still strong
Coaching? I’m not 100% sold on Housley, I’m still not sure if it’s his systems or implementation or motivational skills but there’s room for improvements
Players? It’s very difficult to gage depth players with the way the league is using the salary cap. Our top end talent is young and still in potential mode except for Eichel and Skinner.
As soon as the vets went quiet, depth players went quiet. I don’t why it happened so the question that I don’t know how to approach to answer is:
Are the players not good enough to maintain consistent play for the duration of a season or is it lack of motivation because of coaching and systems in place?
Is that even the right question?
I have a Gandalf pipe with the long stem, just hittin that champ and hiding from the cold today, 2 weeks until I’m back in the city. |

No, ego too big for this young team, I’m looking at talent to chemistry balance, Dzingel fits this roster better than Stone IMO. Younger, better fit (IMO) talented but not expensive |

Botts should avoid high end free agents looking for cash and term. Build from within and make hockey trades for the right players.
Is slow and boring until the day it’s not. |

He is an established player with his own approach to the game. On top of that he will require a large % of salary cap.
Eichel
Dahlin
Skinner
Are going to expensive players but worth it. Stone is talented but I think there are cheaper options. |
