He is an established player with his own approach to the game. On top of that he will require a large % of salary cap.
Eichel
Dahlin
Skinner
Are going to expensive players but worth it. Stone is talented but I think there are cheaper options. - washedup20
I would rather have Stone than Skinner if I had to choose between the two. |

Wouldn't that eliminate signing Skinner too? - kingcong39
He wasn’t expensive to find out if he fits and he does, I would pay him, and he hasn’t made it to FA yet, better chances of negotiating a good deal vs backing up the brinks trucks in July |

I’m interested in long term chemistry for a player like that. Wingers are complimentary so they better fit with the center management plans on using them with.
Ovechkin is undoubtably a HoF player, always had Backstrom...the entire time |

Isn't backing up the brinks truck $8M per long term? |

For Skinner or Stone?
Both are rumored to be asking in the $9-9.5 million range |

Going off the rumors $8 mill is a good middle ground, 8 years at that you can forget about. 5 years is the target term I would be shooting for |

There is zero chance he's signing for 5 years. That is fantasy land. |

More like we didn’t want Brooklyn. Never a good fit. That’s why we’re building a new arena. Win win. |

Garth (I know) is reposting that Duchene was offered 8yrs 64 mil by Ottawa and that stone wants 9-9.5 per.
Gotta pass on both of those guys for that kind of scratch. |

Half serious should we move Risto to RW, similar to what the Sharks did with Burns? - mattmoulson
He's nowhere near the skater that Burns is. Too slow. |

9 more days to go ... sigh. Who will be the last man standing here ?
Anyway, I was bored so I found a Hasek highlight reel that I've never seen before, and it contains my favorite clip/save ever. It was against the Rangers' Manny Malhotra, but it's the Rangers feed and I remember watching it live, laughing my ass off at the commentary. I distinctly remember them going over the replay and the guy (John Davidson ? Sam Rosen ?) going "Oh, gimme a break, that's impossible..." ... and I haven't been able to see that version of the save on Malhotra - until today. Check out the whole, excellent video, but the part i'm talking about is around 1:12

Stone has been successful with Duchene, and is currently playing with Tierney as his center- and i believe has been on a line with Colin White at times this year too
Before that, he was successful with Turris, Brassard, Pageau & Zibanijad as his centers at times
Doesn’t seem like chemistry will be an issue for him no matter who he plays with
He’s one of the most underrated forwards in the league
And is being talked about for the Selke- as a winger- which really just doesn’t happen any more
The guy is a hell of a player
And would be a great fit here
Idk where you’re getting this “ego” thing from?
As far as i know,
He’s been a model citizen for the Sens |

Do you want Stone at 9 or 9.5? for 7 years, because it will take at least that on the open market?
personally I think we should be targeting someone less expensive... |
