I know you're knowledgeable on this stuff, but I can't find anything to suggest that they are allowed outside of the normal buyout window or a second window created by arbitration.

Sorry to take everyone away from the crucial advanced stats debates but I have a friend who has a kid who is currently in the Sabres locker room.

I was texting sources 24/7 and picked up this-

Obviously, Sabres are out in Van City right now but here’s a little tidbit straight from the locker room.

Casey Nelson is in the room and he just traded his game used stick with the kid’s because they both wear number 8.

That is completely fair. And the mental side of things is huge for goaltenders.

Being a goalie as well, I can say, when you move up a level things can get scary real quick. The shots, passes and skating get faster overnight. For his first full season, he's doing well even though that GAA is a bit high.

Edit: I still wonder why he sees such a large uptick in production when he plays. Could be opponent, but that seems like a big disparity given the 16 game sample size Ullmark has. .7gpg is a pretty big jump...

He talked about how the trade from the St. Louis Blues really had an effect on this decision. He didn’t feel comfortable from the beginning and it grew to a point that he didn’t want to pretend any longer.
