In his defense, i think he was pointing out the Leafs could trade for Ferland at or before the deadline with the cap space they currently enjoy.

Close, they have recently re-formed as the "Way-out ahead of the pack for Ferland's"...more of an adult contemporary vibe. |

Well Ferland is a UFA at year end making $1.75 mln this year.
And the Leafs have over $5 mln in cap space this year, and could place Horton on LTIR.
So, you're dumb? - poopstash

humm way ahead of the pack eh.
what would the Leafs be offering? Johnsson and a pick? - zazzle
I am not trying to be a smartass here, but I would not trade Johnsson alone for Ferland, and in no way would I add in a pick. I would like to add him, but for what...maybe a 2nd round pick? Even that seems high for a rental player having a career year. |

What do you mean?
You don't want to trade a 24yr old making under $800K for a 26yr old UFA demanding $6mill?
I mean, Ferland does have 3more goals, after all - hence why the Leafs would need to throw in a draft pick. |

Miles better than johansson, I’d take that all day long. Do you want to beat Boston in the playoffs? Maple leafs have a great shot why not grab a great rental. Picks are money to spend, get replenished every year. Leafs top end talent is so good and young they can part with picks and plugs. |

I wouldn't trade Johnsson right now, period. He adds to his line what Kappy does to his. Why would anyone remove those two assests? |
