You hated the Sedins their entire career and I didn't see anyone disagreeing that they had slowed down considerably and the end was near in their final years. It doesn't break my heart that the team has improved, which you and a few others refuse to acknowledge me saying time & again. Also, this team has very little skill beyond 2 or 3 players. They are far away from being a true contender. With some moves this summer and continued improvement of the younger players, I can see the Canucks pushing for a playoff seed next year.

Saying your team is two points out of a wild card spot is not saying I think we are making the playoffs.

First of all I made the comment 2 points out of 15 th spot. I also said I expect to finish 10 th spot from the bottom about 20 times this year.

There are about 20 teams bunched in the middle all I am pointing out is we cave caught up to that group. I know you know I have said over and over we finish 10th from the bottom so don't twist it into I am waiving pom poms saying we are a playoff team.

Honestly, if it isn't Stone and Karlsson then Jimbo should be locked in a box. I can be talked into Gardiner and Panarin, but I'd rather they did something like you mention. Teams get themselves into cap issues all the time with bloated mid-teir UFA contracts that go on too long.

If you're not getting the elite player, don't waste time and go and try to grab useful peripherals with your cap space.

Another Eriksson contract could easily sink this (frank)ing team in 2-3 years once the actual good players are all breaking the bank on new deals.
