The issue with Simmonds is he provides something the Flyers are, even with him, sorely lacking in. We've seen the catastrophic results in losing someone like Filppula. Yeah, losing a vet like him has really hurt the team and look how the Fishsticks are doing with him. Scoff all you like Flyers fans and haters alike. It's one thing to let vets go when you got the pipeline filled, but the Flyers don't.

BTW, like what Fletcher has done is dumping the two undersized non-contributors Weal and Leier.

I am all for the Flyer doing things that prevent them from becoming a better team, i.e. NOT trying finally get a good goalie or trade players they can go back and re-sign in the off-season to bolster their futures.
