I don't see the same panic as in years past. I am feeling way better about the team this year than last year.

I expect the Canucks to draft someone that will be ready in three years. It is no longer a top priority to me.

I am much more interested in the trades to follow as number 1 and then the draft then free agency.

I really do expect one big trade.

Do you see this trade before the deadline? I'm leaning more towards something big at the draft. Being that the team is competing hard and still in the chase for a playoff spot , I'm thinking JB will stand pat and do his major surgery at the draft. Going forward from now I don't ever want this team giving up on a draft and develop policy ! Unless we are a legit Stanley cup contender I'd rather not see our first three picks moved for help you now players. The exception being a younger player with proven value that slots in with the current age group of the new core

It is very hard to compare two different sets of players. A lot of prospects bring different tangibles the same way NHL players do. I like to try and compare skill sets and career point projections.
Here's a few prospects and some comparable IMO <---this is key because it's just mine

J. Hughes -- Center version of Patrick Kane
Kakko -- winger version of Barkov
Podkolozin ----Aho (Carolina)
Dach --- Getzlaf
Cozens --- O'Reilly
Byram --- Reilly
Turcotte --- Pavelski
Zegras ---- Keller
Broberg ---- Lindholm
Krebs --- Perron

I expect a few trades but one major . I don't know who or when but I feel it will be one or more of Tanev OJ Jake Gudbrandson Sutter Edler or Hutton ( no particular order)

I have a feeling Canucks will look at Hamilton for Sutter and OJ or something similar. This is all speculation

I think they will also look at a cap tight team to make a trade.

I doubt one draft pick this year gets traded seeing draft is here but who knows.
