No shot you get Wahlstrom or Dobson. Maybe Bellows, Ho-Sang, Aho. Perhaps Wilde or Soderstrom. Definitely our #1 pick this year. But he’s a pending free agent. You will not be getting full value for him
- BringNYIhome

Bellows or Aho plus picks is a solid trade.

he will leave it

The Sens are a dumpster fire thanks to ownership
Other teams could offer more
the taxes in canada are higher than the US
He could sign in TX or FL and pay zero state income tax

Let's check in with someone with some measure of credibility...
https://twitter.com/Darre...tatus/1086991027133710336

In short...
- $65-$75M range (i.e. NOT $64M)
- ballpark discussions (i.e. NOT final offer)
- talks continuing (i.e. NOT take-it or leave-it)

Thanks for making up another pile of baseless horse$hit to bring in a few clicks, Eklund.

Ive been very pleasantly surprised with him. He’s been really solid. Hope they can buy out condos and give Nilsson a one year deal.
- sensarmy_11

He's very hot and cold. Can beat the best and lose to the worst. Good teammate though, which is huge.

New arena is at least 3 or 4 years away at best! So yes it’s not a factor. He would be going back and forth between two s. H. I. T holes for 4 years. I don’t think so

1st rd pick
Bellows
Aho
Koivula/2nd or 3rd

I'd take that. Preferably Koivula over the 2nd.

if one of Wahlstrom/Dobson and a 1st aren't included I would hang up the phone if I was Dorion. you'll get at least that from other teams.

fair enough for Dobson....maybe Dobson and a conditional 2nd (becomes a 1st if he re-signs)

but a 1st and Wahlstrom straight up for Duchene is fair

I know hes from the Ottawa area, but who in Duchene's position would choose to play for an owner and organization like that? If I'm a 32+ year old vet looking for 3 years around 3 million, I still wouldn't sign there. He's pretty much going to get to sign anywhere he wants to. Why would he pass that up to play in Ottawa? Or Quebec City? or Kansas City?

If there was an extension in place maybe they would but I don’t see them trading basically 2 first rd picks for a rental.

I just can't imagine them ponying up top prospects like that. Bellows seems like the guy they're gonna dangle out there, if anyone. Still convinced that they only add some bottom-6 depth.

I'd be happy for Lou to try and get Pageau out of OTT.

I think Ottawa would want a lot for him. he's a great bottom six guy, can jump right into the top six and produce when required. great PK player, can contribute on the PP and he's fast as hell.

he's still pretty young and on a good contract with some term left.

I wouldn't imagine they'd give him away cheap with term on a very reasonable deal, but I'd be curious to find out what they were asking. I could see the Isles having interest in Dzingel as well.

Trotz loves Nelson and I'm not sure they're going to fork over a boatload for Duchene and upset the chemistry they have going on in the top-6 right now.

Anything less than 9M he should leave Ottawa.

He can go to a contender anywhere for 8M and not put up with the rebuild Ottawa is facing.

- Dyaciuk

Lets look at his Last 4 years : 59, 41, 59 & 55 pts

9m per...for a guy that doesn't look like he a winner, no thanks ! Only reason he having a good year its because its a contract year...

I rather the habs throw the house on Stone, I think he would be much more useful !

I could see Dzingel and Pageau getting similar returns. no doubt Dzingel scores more goals, but pageau is a better all around player, and he has term while Dzingel is a rental.

I don't think it's unreasonable to think that pageau could fetch a late 1st rd pick

If Ryan Hartman can, Pageau definitely should.

zero chance Stone would end up in Montreal.

Sens would never trade him there.......even if the habs made the best offer (and I don't think you have the pieces to do it) I think Ottawa would take less from a team that wasn't in the division.

as for UFA, considering you guys owe Price and Weber a combined nearly 20mil per year, for the next 3 decades, and you'll have some guys requiring big raises in the next couple of years.........can't see them being able to offer Stone enough to go there.

I can't see them trading him though, unless some team just made a "can't refuse" offer.

he's a fan favorite that probably has far more value to Ottawa than he ever would to another team. I could see them asking more than he's worth (or other teams are willing to pay) simply because the org loves him so much.
