I honestly can’t remember the last time a defenseman got a huge deal after his ELC. I know Dahlin will definitely be an exception. Defenseman historically have always made less then forwards. I would think Botts is writing him down for $10M right now though in his 2020-2021 cap projections and his play will dictate the rest.
