Really? Looked pretty weak to me. They were outshot. Arizona credited with 30 blocks but many of those were dmen blasting into shin pads of guy that was already in front of him. Last nights game played 82 times doesn't get you to the playoffs.
Marincin was puktastic last night. Hot garbage. - burn
Ya this has been the frustrating thing for me watching. They can dominate the game. They have good puck possession, and create a lot of chances, but they can never seem to get the pucks on net. It’s blocked or tipped. I don’t know how they change that? Maybe they’re to predictable or not getting shots off fast enough, but they are making other teams look great with how they are getting in front of every puck. |

Yeah, not bad, I think what it comes down to is the Leafs have just been awful recently and that wont last forever.
They are way better then what they have shown. Matthews hasnt scored in over 10 games which is a long long time for him. Theyll start scoring again soon enough.
The PP on the other hand needs to be redone, I cant believe they havent fixed it by now. Whoever is running the PP strategy needs to give it to someone else |

I see the Leaf had a couple of losses and we get a whole bunch of new trolls.
They seem to arrive after a couple of losses each time.. Funny. |

Agreed. They’ve moved a couple people on and off of it but they haven’t changed the actual set up. It’s far to predictable with marner and Rielly. |

Tell me about it, when every fan who watches knows what they are going to do, the teams do as well.
The Leafs dont move, and they always attack from one area. Honestly, its infuriating. |

Yep, and the 2nd powerplay can’t even get it set up. They all have no confidence and it’s evident to see. |

Once Matthews starts getting going again the team will start rolling. I think id move Marner to play with Kadri at this point too. |

It does kind of suck that he scored a couple games ago, but it was offside 45 mins before he scored. |

Luckily the leafs came out of the gate flying, cause the past 20 games they are a sub .500 team.
Mind you, they did miss Andersen for a wee bit, but still, remember in the summer when the leafs board was filled with "the leafs will outscore their opponents every game, the pp will be the best
......"

Ya I would do
Nylander with Tavares
Marner with kadri
Kap with Matthews
Shake it up because they’ve been slumping for a bit. |

Sounds like the isles pp, stagnant perimeter passing and telegraphing the shot. Hard to believe Torontos power play is bad with the players they can roll out there but the caps pp is in a funk of late too. |

No, Jt and marner are the only consistent line, cant break that up.
Superstar kids will have to find a way to break out of this mess on their own, up until now theyve had an easy ride. Good to have some adversity and negative press. |

Well the d was always the weak spot on the leafs coming in and you add injuries to anderson and sparks and all of a sudden you dont have anyone to cover up the defensive lapses when they do occur |

Yea over the last 20 games per the athletic article i posted
Newcomer Michael Hutchinson actually has the Leafs’ best numbers in goal over this period, with a .914 save percentage in five starts. Andersen is at .900 and Sparks down at .887 |

Life in Toronto, (with a $77 mill contract) is better than NY? Ha! Keep telling yourself that. (I get that its “home” to him & wifey but c’mon) He can score 130 goals but if the team doesnt win, wtf does it matter? - jmo16
the Isles didn't win ANYTHING during Tavares tenure in the New York, they had and have s h i t arena, directionless management for years. Wang being Wang (cheap) for years.
that's why he left.
why can't the Islanders fan base simply let it go? Tavares left for his own personal reasons... .and your team is doing fine without him... stop crying the salty salty tears.
move on. |
