Really feel for the oil fans, it’s been too long with this trash, one year of playoffs and back to square one. And I thought as a flames fan it was rough from 97-04 and another dry spell 2010-15. But this Oil team takes the cake. Best player in the world by far. Be competitive at least. Plus they blew my parlay last night. Shoulda known. Don’t pick oil.

I don't think they're really looking for a goalie right now. If they can find one, great, but those guys rarely come available.

What the need is better scoring depth. What they have right now is... inadequate against anyone other than Edmonton, apparently.

What’s been going on with Staal the last couple years?

He's getting slower. Injury after injury after injury and it's piling up on him.

He has almost no offensive confidence but he CAN still eat up minutes vs top lines pretty effectively, he's just not going to score.

They brought in Kruger to do some heavy lifting for him defensively last year and that was a disaster. Hopefully the way Aho has come along allows them to reduce his minutes.

They can't buy him out, though. If they buy out Darling (who's somehow been WORSE in the AHL than he was in the NHL) then they've got Darling and Semin buy-outs on the books, so a third leaves them no flexibility for retaining salary in a trade or anything for the next several years.
