Different league now and different team budget for scouting.
I don’t think Regeir was good/great, but Murray was Chiarelli level stupid with how to actually run a team - sbroads24
it was one extreme to the other.. one guy who never made a move because he had to rape the other team to a guy who traded like a drunken sailor.. both hurt the team.. but i think if we had a different GM after Darcy things would be different.. bad picks and squandering a treasure trove of assets |

I want to see eichel with nylander, if/ before we move nylander. - Boss34
I do too, I really do.
However, don't expect much.
Pommer, Skinner, Kane ... all very successful with him, all had 1 thing in common...
They knew they had to get to the net because Jack creates some saucy set-up passes there for nearly tip ins.
Nylander will be miles away, safely on the perimeter of play.
Seriously, I did hear that Taylor r des him hard in games and practjce to o to the net and get dirty.
You wou d think after a season and a half he would know what to do by now! |

Perhaps, but plenty of GM's would have taken Sam. And all I'm saying is that it's too easy to look back. Every year, plenty of teams pass on players they "should have taken".
I've always thought that the eligible draft age for the NHL was too young. Too late too fix that now, though. Too much of a crap shoot.
This being said, Boston drafts and develops well. - Powerslave
Three 1sts in a row: Zboril, Debrusk, Senyshyn. Very next pick was Barzal followed by Kyle Connor, Chabot, Svechnikov and Brock Boesser a few picks later. I think most Bruins fans would disagree with your drafting well statement that year. |

If by Ganja you’re referring to the cocachina then you aren’t wrong. Kings haven’t came close to a cup since half the team got busted |

At least Murray only gave Lehner one year at $4M, Chiarelli has now given 2 average goalies north of $4M for 3 years each. |

Didn’t Murray inherit his 3 year contract from Ottawa? Botts gave him one year at 4M. |

I think it's safe to say Murray would've given him at least the year at $4M. My point was really, holy poop Chiarelli is a raving lunatic. |

Murray would have given him a dipietro-esque contract. Sam would already be on a 8x8 contract, kane 8x8 and bogo extended already.

While that's true, when you look at the total picture of what we did with our first rounders and all the first rounders we acquired, you can't help but be disappointed. Dahlin and JB are nice consolation prizes. - Lunaion
Might only be me but so far Eichel and Dahlin are even better than I imagined they would be after reading all the scouts etc. I know they don't count, but wanted to throw that in. |
