It comes from kerber and Strickland to a degree. I'm not making this up just to chat. When Steen is injured we play better there is something there in the locker room that is between Steen and Petro. Think about it. Blues had a great start last season then stumbles and missed the playoffs, it has continued into this season. They have the talent It seems to fit that there is a problem in the locker room.

Okay maybe not those two but I keep hearing things from the radio and other people I understand radio might bs people to keep you tuned in but they have hockey guys on there and it's not just janssen that I'm talking about I've heard it from quite a few people actually. I get bored of my music so I listen to 590 am everyday. They talk a lot. Ha ha

Screw that. Pietrangelo has been inconsistent and incomplete player a lot longer than this season. This has little to do with having triplets at home.

He has enough cheddar to hire three nannies if his wife needed. I don't buy this crap.

Pietrangelo is a wuss.

Inconsistent and incomplete? He’s averaged almost 50 points a year over the last five years. He has one less point than OEL over that period.

This is a down year for him. Might he benefit from a change of scenery? Sure. Could the club get a good return from trading him? Yes. How would trading a guy who just had children affect the club’s image with free agents looking to sign with a club?

It totally could be true. If so, the Blues have bigger problems than a petty attitude about the captaincy... Is Armstrong on the ropes with ownership?

They just signed him to a deal a season or few a back I would think Stillman still believes in him even if the fan base doesn't

I don't think Armstrong is to blame here.

The rumors I keep hearing and some of the slips by postgame player interviews seem to be directed towards Steen or Tarasenko. There was one instance where Schenn replied to a Steen quote quite negatively.

If the Blues wanted to move Steen I'll bet they could but they return won't be much and they will be eating salary.

I'm all for fixing the room by trading one of four players though I think it's really three players and of the three two that are causing this. It goes supposedly towards the Petro-Backes relationship.

If any of it's true, it's a damn shame then bc grow the hell up and earn your pay.

Still interesting Allen did not get in one of the last two games and it happens to be January. It's like they tried to keep him out of the net this month as much as possible. Also probably didn't want the Kins loss to linger for Binnington?

It's just really strange for the Blues.

Steen is a and maybe the major issue for this team. Players and reporters have hinted at it. And it’s been privately discussed by some previous assistant coaches.

One rumor is that hitch wanted him gone a long time ago even when he wasn’t as bad of an issue because we had strong leadership with Backes. Main reason he wasn’t was because he was close with Armstrong and Armstrong could go to Steen whenever he needed info on other guys in the room.

only way you can move Steen to me is if you take on a guy with a bad contract as well

Last time I remember weather like this I played a pickup game at the old outdoor Webster rink around Christmas. I was just a kid and had a severe cold but they needed more people. Damn it was cold. Ha. Ha

Not saying this was the case but it's possible he was given it because he was a veteran guy who at the time had respect within the room with a certain group of guys. Combine that with a strong captain like backes in place and it just made sense.

Hitch in theory could have given it to him and hoped for the best and still not been thrilled about it.

under Hitch for the most part the squad looked in tact there is no strong leader there now.be it coach or captain

I disagree.

It really felt like Perron and O'Reilley have risen to the occasion. Perron most of all. He owned up to the bad penalties and then started producing but he first would blame himself and then say this team has got to be better and show more. I think Perron's year last year taught him a lot.

I think, as someone looking from the outside, that others like Schenn and Schwartz have been shut down. I think Parayko has leadership in him.

I was definitely referring to the team we had last year. This year Yeah. Perron has stepped up a lot. ROR is great. The old squad has taken a step back

Bad puck luck. Bad goaltending to start. The underlying numbers of the Tarasenko, Schenn and Schwartz line are still good. All three seemingly have increased chances but their shooting percents are dramatically lower.

When you use fancy stats correctly they can help get a clearer picture of should you be patient or what. Something is off in the room for sure. Thinking about it, I bet it stems from the soft goals early in the season.
