Not/Ready/For/NHL/MinutesYet - TheSabresTaco
Hence why they are 7th/emergency dmen.
If Guhle is not ready next year to play 6/7 D-man minutes he needs to be moved.
He will be 22.

Botts knows what the flaws are, and knew the C position would be weak this year. I doubt he thought it would be this rough. But there's a lot of middle 6 centers available that likely wouldn't break the bank. It'd be a great start. Find a reliable 40 point winger to replace Pom. Casey Tage Dahlin and Pilut will continue to grow. If you're trading a 1st rounder, make sure that player is undoubtedly top 6F or top 4 D for at least 8 years. |

That's where risto comes in.
Where are we going to replace his 50 point scoring pace, from a defenseman?
Just grab 1 of 4 guys from the ducks? That guy will do it. - Boss34

I mean, unless it’s for a Jonathan Drouin or Max Domi type of 21-22 year old that’s the on the block, the firsts shouldn’t be moved at all |

Agreed to an extent.
Signed good dman (Ducks).
Im not just moving them to move them.
Prospects are great. But if you can get a proven (What you want that mid-late first to be) player for that. I'd do it all day.
how many times have we been excited for the prospects for them just to not pan out.
Armia
Guhle
Bailey
Kassian
Foligno
Baptiste
Grigorenko
Zadorov
Nylander
Girgensons
IM not saying move them all, but make a trade that nets you a player for the latest of all the 1st rd picks this year. |

Sure and the best defensemen in the world was a 15th overall pick by the Sens.
What’s easier to acquire outside of drafting them, a solid 3-4 D man or second line center, or a perennial all-star D man?
We need to hit a home run at some point

I would be shocked if risto is traded.
Trading a quality nhl defenseman away, isnt how you get better. |

Oh I am with you 100%, Im not saying go full Tim Murray and just give poop away.
They are in a position to deal one of the three they have, IMO and still have a chance at hitting a HR. IMO they need to make a move to bring in a player to keep this from collapsing.
They are going to waste the ELC and Bridge of Dahlin,Middlestadt,Reinhart.
Its only going to get harder to acquire once those guys start making real money. |

This overvalues a first round pick.
There is nothing close to a guarantee, much less even a presumption, that a first round pick will turn into a top 6F or top 4D, and even if the pick does get there, it's not likely to happen for 3 or 4 years, so the "at least 8 years" business is LOONY. |

Risto consistently has scored in the 40 point range on last place teams.
Physical
Tough
Good contract
Still young
Minute eating
Injury free
Entertaining player
He's on my non tradeable list.
I think jbotts feels the same way.

Solid top 1-3 defenseman - Boss34
None of these mean he’s good.
Legit the only numbers that say he’s anywhere near a top 2 D man is his ice time and point totals.
The 18 year old is already scoring more 5 on 5 in less ice time.
Risto is ok, if JB has any type of brain he’s no where remotely on a no-trade list |

The 18 year old once in a lifetime defenseman is outscoring risto 5 x 5.
Risto is not getting traded.

I don't think we have any idea what JB thinks of Risto. There's no question he's aware of his advanced stat struggles. How seriously that weighs into his evaluation is completely unknown. |

Is this the same Bogosian who has 2 goals and 9 points?
Or are we talking about his brother, Jack Bogosian?
They are certainly nowhere close to equal. |
