Great skills Claude! Just behind Kane - THE EVIL WITHIN
Giroux is better than Tavares.
There, I said it.
We still need Johnny Gaudreau though. |

I would be lying if I said I watched Lindros play in his absolute Entirety. I kinda just road the wave when Coffey became a Flyer after his time in Detroit (Windsor, Ontario native). With this said, it’s bern a pleasure to watch Giroux grow into the player he is today. I was there live in London Ontario during Giroux’s first pre season game when he was horrible! He was expected to beat Steve Downie for a roster spot the only the remotely impressive G did that night was make an awesome point shot block that I can see picture in my head.
With all of this said, I had no idea he would ever reach this type of status with a team that at times can be as flawed as one of the very worst in the league. Giroux has done it all and seen it all as a Flyer, from bottom feeder to Stanley Cup Final and back to bottom feeder. |

The NHL skills Competition has become the NBA skills Competition, Which is absurd to me. Just get to fastest skater, accurate shot, hardest shot and maybe breakaway. The rest is absurd. |

you honestly think losing a guy like Morin, Hagg, Lindblom or Rubtsov, will have a huge negative impact on the team? I think that's a bit of an overreaction. You have a lot of good prospects in the system, plus a likely top 10 pick in this years draft. By 2021-22, at least a few, if not several of these kids will be NHL ready.
I don't want to give up a good prospect or a 2nd round pick just to have Seattle take JVR or whomever you're thinking they should take. It's not worth it. - BiggE
for me, more than anything, I am annoyed to lose a kid the Flyers have spent time developing because the NHL feels impelled to set up the expansion teams to win from the get go whereas every other expansion team has had to build from the ground up. i mean, i get it in the sense the expansion teams are paying a lot of money but still..... |

Yup, I feel the same. I understand wanting the new teams to be able to at least be average, but I think the NHL went a little too far in the way they've set up the expansion drafts.
If it were up to me, teams would simply be able to protect 10 skaters (position wouldn't be a factor) and 1 goalie. Players eligible would be any skater with at least 2 years of pro experience and any goalie with at least 3 years of pro experience. This way the expansion teams would still have no problem getting at least 2 solid goalies and some good players, but teams wouldn't have to risk losing their best players. |

I don't think the league would step in until there was a rule in place. For example, the league had to wait a few years before they were able to put a stop to cap-recapture contracts. And the league doesn't stop teams from trading back assets they lost in RFA bids like the Gratton deal.
As for the if Vegas doesn't trade back the players.... that is a risk, obviously, but I guess it all depends on if the GMs trust each other. - youarewrong
pretty sure there is a rule preventing teams from waiving a guy, having said guy selected then trading for them back.....because the flyers/Clarke did that at the begging of a season with 2 players (can't remember who they were). has nothing to do with this per se, just thought about it. Gotta love Clarke and the Flyers who always tried to buck the system. |

I believe it was Keith Acton and Pete Peeters. Clarke traded them to Winnipeg and then after the draft, reacquired them. The deal was allowed to stand, but the Flyers were fined. |

So you use your gut feeling...got it. - Glak18
my eye test says Lyon is a good AHL goalie who can be relied upon to be called up in a pinch and play a few games. I think Stolaz could be a competent NHL back up if he can get past all of the knee issues. |

I’m assuming the protected from Seattle are..,
Giroux, Voracek, Couturier, Konecny, Patrick, Laughton and Lindblom
Provorov, Ghost, Sanheim
Hart
This is assuming Simmonds is already traded and everyone still hates JvR?
In this case, they take Hagg? - SuperSchennBros
i wouldn't be surprised if they went the 4/4 route to protect Myers |

Ok I will put them under protected for now.
Imagine if the Flyers signed or traded for a goalie with a NTC...that would automatically expose Hart. - Glak18
wouldn't Hart be exempt even if the draft is after next season.....he would only have just completed his 2nd pro season |
