Please just flush all these annoying announcers. Liam is solid the rest... I’d rather have snoop announce with blunts going and slick catchy commentary than these duds at least for the all star game. Having the girls involved is a nice touch ... |

That clip of Reggis there is pretty bad. Imagine being that awkward. |

Liam? Liam Neeson? Oh man I hope the NHL gets him for commentary!

“He’s my modern left handed Mario Lemieux.”
Whoa. |

I didn’t know that chick beat Drais, that’s pretty neat. I don’t like the idea of making the nets bigger. These guys are pros. I had bantam aged boys and girls saucing into those pond hockey nets at last years skills competition from somewhat similar distances and it was honestly too easy. We had 6 nets that you had to sauce it into. When it came time to showcase the drill, I got lucky in the demonstration and went 6 for 6 in under 6 seconds. I thought it was really cool to see Karlsson nail those far targets so quickly.
What I was curious on was how hard the girls shoot. I know that I can’t compete with the big boys, but at that same skills competition last year with an older Bauer I got recorded at 93 mph for my slapshot and 77 for my snapshot. Very curious how a female pro hockey player would’ve stacked up |

Personal opinion: instead of seeing interviews with the players where they all say the same thing over and over again I think I would rather they string together some highlights related to each event maybe performed by those same players. Maybe throw in some decent music in the background, show some of it at full speed, slow motion some parts, talk more about the technique for the kids. I think that would be more enjoyable as an adult and would provide more value for the kids |

Ah, PeeAir at it again. It would have been great if she laid him out with a punch to the face. That should definitely have earned her the MVP of the skills competition.
My favorite (and I think best descriptive) article about McGuire is this one, entitled "Pierre McGuire – Hockey’s Hemorrhoid":

It all sucks. The skills, the 3 on 3, the announcers, the lack of any type of actual competition.
Have a game between the potential 1st through 3rd round pics of next summer’s draft. Give the NHL guys 5 days off, then restart the season. |

How about, instead of the normal ass announcers doing the interviews...
You get players from the other teams doing the interivews... and its really just players giving each other poop while answering maybe 1 or 2 real questions for the day in total. |

Pierre is useless. Almost as useless as Milbury.
Look, Pierre never excelled in the NHL at any level. He washed out as a player and as a coach. In the history of hockey, he is and always will be considered a "never was" - you must first accomplish something significant to be a "has been", and Pierre doesn't even meet that bar. His opinions are pointless and his commentary is contrived. His interviews are painful to watch. How he keeps getting a paycheck is mind boggling.

He claims to have single handily drafted Jaromir Jagr despite the fact that he was hired on by the Pens just one week before that draft took place, so I guess that's significant, at least in his mind. |

Some tidbits from Yohe's Q&A today:
1. Reading between the lines of what he said, I don't think he's optimistic we'll find a trade with Brassard that makes sense, and this is the same guy that was ready to stake his life savings on Brassard not making it past the deadline. He also said he thinks Rutherford will keep our 1st rounder this year to restock the farm, which really makes me feel like we're giving up on the 3C situation. We should start preparing ourselves to ride out Brassard. Not necessarily a bad idea, just not a great situation.
2. Johnson will be in the top 6 when Schultz comes back. The coaching staff likes him. One of Oleksiak, Riikola, or Ruhwedel will be traded. Not shocked by any of this. My guess is that Chad is sent out for like a 6th rounder.
3. He thinks Teddy Blueger is NHL ready and will be a regular by next season. Insinuated that he would already be if we didn't have an overload of centers.
4. We're "in" on Ferland in so much that Rutherford likes him, would like him on the Pens, and has enquired, but he doubts that Ferland is actually realistic because we won't be able to match up in a bidding war. |

#1 is pretty accurate. For as bad as Brassard has been, finding a better replacement for what the Pens can offer will be pretty difficult. If Brass is smart he will go 200% in the playoffs for his final Pro contract in the off season which should benefit both parties.
I have no clue about Fernland. |

I wish I DVR'ed the game when he said "I once coached Mario Lemieux" . I guess being a scout is equivalent to being a coach in his world. Being a scout was actually probably the only thing he was ever good at, especially since he seems to know what peewee team each player played for. |

It has honestly felt like Brassard has dragged ass because he didn't want to play 3rd fiddle the entire time he has been in Pittsburgh.
Point being, he HAS to step it up or he is going to cost himself millions. No way they should give him away, needs to be a haul. |

I hope Matt Murray never goes to the ASG. A goalie could definitely get hurt trying to make spectacular saves. |
