Thanks Todd. Sign Hall Period.
Don't hate me for this idea. We keep talking about who we can trade and who we need to build around. It appears to me we are at least 2 years away from being competitive. Looking at contracts age, skill and timeline to competiveness should Palmieri be in the discussion of tradeable assets? He could bring in a nice haul, and by the time this team is competitive again his contract will run out. Just looking for ideas. Don't hate it the idea because its Palmieri who we all love. The question to answer is does it make sense for the future of this franchise? |

Hate to burst your bubble, but what u might land is alot less than u think. Wingers do not have same value as d men or centers.
Most likely he signs with the rangers as a ufa. |

From an Islanders fans perspective...yes they absolutely should.
Trust me. You don’t wanna find out what bed sheets he’s got hidden away in his closet back home |

If an extension could be negotiated with Varlamov beforehand and the 3rd switches to a 2nd then I think that’s potentially something the Devils would strongly consider. The question is, why would the Avs do this? Hall’s extension likely pays him $10-11MM and you gotta figure Rantanen comes in somewhere in the same range. With Jost gone, what’s the long-term outlook for the Avs at center? I assume you’d be looking to sign another defender as well and another steady presence in net. I think it’s a solid idea, just curious on how you plan on insulating the team after |

This is an MVP caliber winger, not roster filler. If he's available, there will be war for him. Make no mistake. |

Todd, what would you say the current value of Pavel Zacha would be on the trade market and what do you think his next contract will look like? To me, I don’t think he’s ever going to be a 2C and whether or not he becomes a better 3C is still up for debate if that’s in his future |

They should move him to Right Wing.
He clearly has skill but doesn’t seem like an NHL quality center. |

Trade him for the 1OA pick in this years draft. Plus we pick 2OA. Hughes and Kakko |

I think you can fit Hall in around $9M to maybe $10M. Ranty can be had for close to $9M. If anyone can do it its Sakic! |

Yeah I would agree.
Side note. What would you Devils fans be willing to give Tampa this offseason for Ryan Callahan (on pace for 24 points) and JT Miller (on pace for his 3rd 50+ point season and is only 25; still has term at a good cap hit)? I think Montreal and NJD are good fits to take this cap dump/hockey trade. Would you give up Zacha and a 2nd? Coleman and a 3rd? Or maybe do you give them Greene at 50% retained and a prospect and call it good? I think Coleman and a 3rd makes sense for both teams. I think Montreal would offer them Joel Armia and maybe a 2nd or a 3rd or something. I think that makes a better squad moving forward. Is it something the Wings would do? Yeah, maybe. I think from there a ton of teams would line up to get Miller if he became available |

Wouldn’t even offer you a bag of pucks for these Rags rejects.
