Boruk says that sources in the organization have said that Hart is here to stay and not get sent down. Looks like (for the time being) the #1 and #2 are Hart and Stolarz.

I may be leight. It's on CSNPhilly.

I think the biggest change is the communication. It's obvious he is including the front office in his"plan".

Just the way we all drew it up this time last year, amirite?

Seriously, though, the season is over and it's obvious both Elliot and Neuvirth can no longer be relied upon.

Lol Chuck just spoke with media and someone asked about Dale.

No hesitation goes, “Dale doesn’t have a future here. He won’t be part of what’s to come.”

2) This is exactly what any good GM should always do. I haven’t seen Fletcher do or not do something that I can scream about. I may question a few things but so far so good, just minor stuff. I don’t agree with anyone 100% of the time.

Complete and utter nonsense.

Don't you remember that, as soon as Fletcher took over, we started to trade some/all of our highly-touted young assets for quick fixes to salvage the season with a win-now mentality?

I'll be curious if Elliott gets in another game. Healthy or not, I doubt Neuvirth does.

Hard to imagine a few months ago these were our #1 and 2 guys.

Fletch is expecting Elliott back and in net even if as a backup.

I have no problem drafting and developing guys to stock the prospect pool. That should be a philosophy all GM'S should adhere to. But you have to be aggressive too. There has to be a best of both worlds. Just drafting guys isn't enough. If you don't make aggressive moves you're banking on all your picks panning out. And we know that isn't ever the case.

If you want to be a Stanley cup contender, you got to make Stanley cup moves.

a Trouba trade with you guys might come down to how close some of your best prospects like Frost are to contributing or where you land in the draft. Would you consider moving someone like Couts or Patrick straight up for like you said your new top pair Right Side D? or maybe Phillipe Myers plus makes more sense? Flyers fans might say no but I know Jets fans will balk at Laughton plus or Morin plus. I love what Calgary got for Hamilton, don't see us getting that for Trouba but I can dream.
- Ross77

There is no way they part with Coots, Patrick or Frost, nor should they. Myers and a center prospect like Rubtsov along with perhaps a late 1st that they could acquire in a Simmonds deal is likely the most they would offer. The Jets leverage is limited, as everyone knows he can go UFA the following season.

A combo of Hart and Stolie is more interesting to me, at this point, but yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if they give Elliot a start or two almost as a favor to help him get his next job.

I think that's as close to getting fired as a professional athlete can get, without invoking some sort of bad conduct clause in their contract.

They literally fired Dale Weise.

I'm not so sure that Elliott will even be able to return this season, if ever. A month ago, they were talking about him being on the ice in a few weeks. Now it's what? Another few weeks? I have a feeling he really needs surgery and that his career is probably over, but he's trying to avoid the inevitable for as long as possible. It sucks, as he is a class guy, but it's the sad reality of pro sports. Odds are, as you age, something is going to break down.

I think the coaching change has given some guys more ice time (Sanheim, Lindblom) that needed it.

I liked that we decided to move on from Jordan Weal. I liked that we moved on from Dale Weise. I"ll be happier when we move on from Jori Lehtera. I like the Vorobyev recall.

Also, I recall that Hart was recalled as much because of injuries as anything else.

So, I think there have been subtle changes here and there that have made a difference.

- johndewar

This summarizes my feelings to a T.

I like the coach giving the young guys some minutes, especially Sanheim.

Fletch, so far so good. A good move to deal Weal and demote Weise. But the jury is out. If Simmonds gets a 5+ year deal or walks for nothing then I’ll be a little ticked.

Will he bring in a goalie this summer? A R handed vet D? Upgrade the 3C? Have to see how he does with the big decisions.

No, many people on here assured us all that replacing Hextall with Fletcher meant that we'd be making panic moves involving valuable young pieces to salvage this season.
