I'd play ullmark in the 3rd

Just to shake things up?

Tough to put either of those last 2 on Hutton
Pretty bad defense
Especially the last one where just about every skater was to blame

Looks like the first game back after a long break. Huge breakdowns by both teams. No wonder we have 8 goals in 2 periods.

Well there’s only 1 Cup winner per year
- jdfitz77

And the three teams that have the best shot of winning the cup this year were built almost exclusively through the draft sans one or two trades. The Pens and Kings don’t win the cups without the players they had drafted. We aren’t a Phil Kessel away from winning the cup like the Pens were when they made that trade. Carter and Richards don’t win squat in LA without Pearson, Toffoli, Doughty, Kopitar (12th overall pick).

Caps won the cup last year. Please tell me with what selections Wilson, Kuznetsov, Carlsson, Vrana, Burakovsky we’re selected and whether or not those guys were integral in surrounding Ovi and Backstrom or if those mid to late first rounders should have been traded.

This team plays better from behind than we do ahead by 2. Immaturity, or coaching?
- LandlordTom

When veterans completely blow plays, I don't buy the coaching argument.

They'll pull this one out.
Not sure which team will but, one of them will for sure.

The 3rd goal was 100% on Hutton. That was so leaky

Signs of an immature team.
- feetontheair22

That tying goal was brutal though

McCabe loses the puck battle on the boards

Risto is late to get there & help, then late to get back to the front of the net

Neither it the wingers drop down to help out in the front of the net

Sam didn’t get the puck out when he had the chance

Jack had his guy near the net,
but it was his turnover just inside the CBj blueline that started the rush for them

All around awful

The Sens traded Zibanijad and a 2nd rounder for Brassard. Sigh.

I’m saying trade all the picks
But of the right player is available, then your foolish to say no bc u MIGHT draft a guy in the 20s who MIGHT end up as good as the guy u could’ve just traded for

And neither you, or Sbroads, have addressed how waiting 4 or 5 years for most of these guys to be MAJOR contributors (not 2yrs) is WASTING TIME when we have Jack & Dahlin

In 3 years Dahlin is 21 and Eichel is 25-26. I didn’t know our cup window was closed when that happened. Having a bunch of young studs to supplement those players would be something else don’t you think ?
