He was in the box for fighting Stamkos.
It’s so weird how HCMJ nailed the top 6 tonight but botched the bottom 6 and never tried to mix it up. A couple decent shifts here and there but really not much going on from our depth, nothing consistent. A 4-0 lead is a pretty decent time to try a couple small changes |

I think Sheahan between Hornie and Pearson would have been great. |

It's that decline. Might as well trade him now for solid futures. |

Oh absolutely, I agree. Not sure why Sullivan didn’t do it. Twitter fans would be all “we’re winning so he’s doing it right” but just because you can get away underperforming doesn’t mean you should continue to strive for it
LOTS of empty seats with 3 minutes to go. Is that normal?
JT Miller is unreal. I could see him and Callahan go to dallas for one of those young defenders. Frees up cap space in Tampa and then Dallas would have room to sign Gardiner to replace the lost defender. Tampa could use a new RHD in the offseason, Dallas is desperate for scoring beyond their first line |

Four goal Murray getting ready - Rinosaur
Props to Eddie for correcting Pierre. Sheahan was fine. Murray was off his angle slightly on that goal, cheating towards his glove. Should’ve had it |

He wants that back. It wasn't a good one to let up, but at least he was timely when letting that drek in. |

Yup. Definitely off his angle. It’s too bad that NHL broadcasts don’t talk more about that kind of stuff. It’s so important for young goalies (and fans) to recognize that kind of stuff
Leafs apparently are going to keep cap space this year to have room for bonuses to Matthews and Marner. That’s friggin smart. Do they unload Gardiner? I don’t think so. I think they absolutely keep him unless a defender comes back in the deal. If we could negotiate a 6x6 extension with gardiner then I would be all for trading a locked up Maatta for Gardiner. I would even add a 3rd because I think the upgrade is incredibly worth it. I also think it helps bridge the loss of Schultz if he leaves, which I don’t think he will. I think he’ll take a small discount to stay with the team that helped him realize his potential. What do you all think?
Also, what do you guys think about Brass tonight? Dude was absolutely invisible |

Offseason center targets: Eric Staal - $5MM AAV for 2 seasons, can you get Dzingel for $5MM? Do you feel comfortable if you can? Staal is a great choice because so much of what he does is at ES. Problem is he’s used to 17-18 minutes a game. Brass usually plays under 15. Hayes is a 2C so I don’t think he’d come to Pitt anyways. Could offer Spezza $4MM for a year, maybe less? That’s really it. I think everyone there wants to continue playing 2C except Spezza, I think he’s our only option at an offensive 3C otherwise we might as well just stick with Sheahan/Blueger IMO |

Would have loved to see Sheahan in an expanded role with good wings to make a judgment on the next moves......but the proud vet squeezing every drop of blood out of his career is apparently more important.
I honestly hate crapping on Cullen because it's not his fault the coach and GM can't make the prudent decisions. Great guy. Big part of those two cups. JR just needed to let him retire. |

I absolutely agree
In another note. Some guy on CapFriendlf just told me JT Miller is worth a mid to late 1st rounder at the upcoming draft, so that’s good news for us I guess lol |

Rumor has it Penguins are asking for Lowry in a trade with WPG. After last night I think Ferland would be a great add. I still wish we had Reaves on the 4th. Him and Wilson I could see being awesome together. |

As long as the Pens have to play Tom Wilson in the playoffs it really is a mystery to why they traded Reaves for that waste of hockey equipment Brassard. |

Could it be perhaps because Brassard is a C and has a very long career/sample size of being a vastly superior hockey player than Reaves? hmmm
I seem to remember something about the upper brass (Mario and Burkle) really pushing GMJR to go after Brassard as well. Also, and perhaps I dreamt this, but I seem to remember that media said after a game vs the Sens close to the TDL last year, the that Mario and Burkle went to talk to GMJR...then within a week Brassard was a Penguin. |

Anyone else watch the Sportnet broadcast last night? Friedman and the cast must of brought up the Pens and Ferland 3 or 4 times. Also, yesterday on my lunch break I was watching Hockey Central at noon and they were talking about Ferland and the Pens. They were saying that Ferland was injured and missed games on a recent road trip and that the Canes probably want to get rid of him sooner than later in case he's injured again. |
