I really think the Leafs sold the Yotes on the idea of them taking Strome. Yotes were maybe hoping to get an extra pick in the scheme of things. Great decoy.

Hard to figure because I don’t read anything about the teams I don’t like. Namely Montreal and Ottawa. How so many haters can be obsessed with a team that hasn’t done anything in more than 50 years boggles my mind.

The reason people are annoyed by it is because all local media are grossly biased to appeal to their target demo. By virtue of having such pull in the hockey world, the aforementioned cycle pushes some of the biggest Leaf homers to the fore.

I don't get bothered by it at all but the reality is that's what happens so poking fun at it is absolutely reasonable.

Poking fun at it is great, I can understand being annoyed by it, but the media is baiting the fans and the haters just for hits and it works every time.

Other teams merely adopted the tank.... The Oilers were born in to it... molded by it

Strome has been doing well with the hawks. 9 goals and 21 points in 27 games. Maybe the issue is the Yotes ability to develop these players. Maybe under Babcock in Toronto, Strome realizes his potential and develops into a top center. Who knows what happens to Marner in Arizona. The Yokes players just never seem to be able to take that next step.
