I feel like he has been a ghost this year. Each year i think he is going to break out and he never does.

The last thing the bruins need is a injury prone slow player on the backside of his career the game has past him by!

Marcus Johansson, quality player with great vision. Lots of playoff experience and you could get him as a rental for a 2nd...... I think Simmonds is a massive overpay at this point.

Would be a solid 3C. But why are you looking to move on from him?

Not really sure the teams problems are solved in one trade. There are several players who are inconsistent. Outside of power play goals and the Bergeron line the team is pretty lukewarm.

DeBrusk has been super inconsistent this year.
Heinen has regressed and should be in providence.
Backes has been oft injured and disappointing.

While Carlo is much improved McAvoy has been oft injured and has not been impressive at all this season.

Chara is doing what he can but he is 42.

Halak is doing what Halak does. Inconsistent. Which the only consistency he has ever had in his pro career.

I don't think trading more 1st rounders for aging power forward rentals is the solution. I see that as a problem. I think its time to entertain the idea this is not the Bruins year. Don't add for a stretch run. Make a move or moves for the longer term. JJ will never go for it. Must have those playoff gates.

I think you hit the nail on the head here with that entire assessment. The more I think about it, the Simmonds move is all bad. He hasn’t been good for 2 years what makes a deadline deal rejuvenate his play.

Definitely not looking to move on from him. He is currently our 1LW, and I am very impressed with his complete game. It is obvious this is not the Devs year to make a splash in the post season, so let Mojo join a decent team like the B's. He would be a great 3C if the Pens are looking as well. I certainly hope to have him back in a devils jersey at the start of the 2019 season.

Side note, Justin Williams would be another big pickup. I know he is 38, but he is playing good hockey, with 28 points this season. Lets not forget 94 playoff points in 140 games. He would be a great 3/4 RW for any team wanting experience at the cost of a 4th/5th rd pick.

He hasn't been the same since Marchy dropped a flying elbow on him last year....Hard pass.

Thing with Simmonds though is that he isnt getting the PP time he used to and even so the PP on Philly hasnt been clicking. It isnt even that the PP is bad, they just for some reason cant bury one except for last night of course. Simmonds is the guy you expected Backes to be. He isnt a bad player or regressing. He was just overvalued his entire career because he could pot 40% of his points on the PP. To me he is a borderline 2nd line guy who is good on the PP. He works hard, he wins puck battles but he isnt going to dangle guys. He is an effort over skill type player

This team is going to be total trash in a few years anyway, might as well go for it now while Krejci and Bergy are still around.

Trade Bjork and Donato while people still think they'll amount to something.

Play Marchand with Krejci. See if that works.

Well this is the Big Question, I mean if you don't actually GO FOR IT, then don't do anything, leave the kids alone (as unimpressive as they have been), I mean there's always a chance for winning with an elite line and Rask playing on his head, BUT chances are your not getting by Tampa with just bringing in a veteran 2nd line forward, not happening, IF the Bergy line can match the Kucherov line then you still are over your head with the 2nd line matchup "Gourde-Johnson" line would be a big mismatch with the "Krejci-DeBrusk" line not even going to the 3rd lines where it's probably the Biggest mismatch.
I mean Cirelli, Killorn and Miller are probably better than our 2nd line
