No no pegullaville as it right. Lets wait 4 more years.
With no center in the pipeline and since Pegullaville thinks we should stand pat I am sure one of our 3 1sts will become a center in the NHL in 4 years and then we are ready. - sabresfan69
Why yes, yes of course.
Another 4 years.
Why the (frank) not, right?

He might’ve meant getting one in free agency. But that is a costly path. Ideally Mitts is that guy but he seems rather far away at the moment. Invisible at times, maddeningly visible at others. |

What center is that? Duchene at 10m?
A 35 year old Pavelski at 6m?
A 35 year old Staal at 7m?
Or Maybe lets overpay Hayes at 7m?
Cause they are all dying to come here we will have to overpay to get them.
Whether Mitts is the guy or not there is no 2nd/3rd line center on this team or in the minors. WE MUST trade or sign one.
If you want to sign one then those are your choices. |

I know. It’s a huge problem. I don’t know what the solution is. Fans like to say, “In Botts we trust”, right? He’s been quiet lately. |

There is no 2nd/3rd line center on this team or in the minors even if you are counting on Mitts to take one of those spots.
He posted that we should wait for the draft picks 4 years from now.
Trading for one is possible without sacrificing the future. Botts would rather wait to the off season that is a huge issue. |

In plain English.
GMJB poop this season right into the sewer by waiting far too long to help this team.
To help this team where even the novice fan could see that help was needed.
It should have been done near the end of December.
1st round draft picks don't always pan out.
He needs to stop holding on to them like they do!
Too late now....
He has already allowed the damage to be done to the psyche of this particular group.
It's all over this year....ONCE AGAIN. |

I like the fact that he's quiet, and not making a major over-reactive mistake. He's gotta know they aren't 1 player away.

Absolutely, you could have traded a mixture of 1st, 2nd, Guhle, Nylander + any b rate prospect or any non core roster player and you would get a 2nd/3rd line center. That is plenty of ammunition without sacrificing the future still leaving you with 2 1sts. |

Not sticking up for Botts, but there were trades to be made with who exactly?
There are far too many teams not sure of whether they're buyers or sellers. |

So what you are saying is Botts is not capable of trading for a young center with term to help this team now and in the future? By doing that you would call that overreacting?
Got it, so next year to that magical 2nd line center will fall onto the sabres roster from la la land. |

So what you are saying is Botts is not capable of calling a GM and presenting an offer that the other GM feels is beneficial to his team? |

You are the only one that has been instilled with the power of knowledge. Got it
What makes things so strange is here you are posting wasting your breath
Botts traded ROR for Sobotka and thought that would be good enough for our 2C
But we are stupid. |

If you can't follow along and get it then I would suggest reading again.
Its Botts job for christ sakes. Its his job to ice a competitive team or he is fired.
Do you not get that? |

Perhaps "other GM" isn't ready to deal.
Are YOU giving up a roster player if YOU can perhaps make the playoffs, if YOU'RE said "other GM"?
Didn't think so. |

If that is the way Botts operates then we will have a new GM in 2 years. |

Yea let’s trade for Brassard whose been traded 4 times. Maybe Brayden Schenn ? If you want to build a cup contender draft a damn team. The leafs, Jets, lightning didn’t have a problem doing it. The Caps drafted a team that won them a cup last time I checked. Botts has been on the job for a year and a half. Like I said take it up with Tim Murray and Darcy regier if you have a problem. The stupid 10 game winning streak blinded everyone. |

Right, and if that is the way Botts operates we will have a new GM in 2 years.
That is a guarantee.
If Botts operates that there is no point in calling anyone and trading for a center we will have a new GM in 2 years. |
